Tuesday Travel Style {8}

Travel Bag Edition

My world revolves around Handbags.
Literally.
That is the business that I am in.

Finding the perfect travel bag is key.
It has to be small enough to carry without looking like the bag owns you and large enough to fit everything and still fit in the overhead space.

I am going to give you two amazing looks.
One is UBER expensive and the other is easy on your wallet.

{image via starstyleinc.com}

Nothing is more coveted or illustrious as a Chanel bag.
And this bag that Nicole is carrying is the MOTHER of the bags. Quilted leather, classic chain and GINORMOUS.
I would probably give my first born for a bag like this.
{notice I said GIVE my child not PAY for this bag. I can justify pretty much anything and I would have a very, very hard time doing that for such an expensive piece}
This bag is a few HOUSE payments.
Yes...I will let that sink in :)

{image via justjared.com}

Have you gotten over the hefty price tag of the Chanel bag yet? No? Well now you can...
Rachel is carrying the LeSportsac large weekender.
I have this bag that I got as a Christmas gift in 2006 and it looks just as amazing now as it did then. This bag retails for about $108 bucks and comes in an array of prints and colors. You can buy it from Bloomies. You won't be sorry!

302: FOUND...Faux Fur Vest

I think I may have FINALLY found the perfect fur vest. The Gap has come out with one that should have hit stores on Monday and I have to have it. My first priority today, other than work of course, is to run in and try it on.

I have been waiting weeks to buy it. While I am super excited about the possibility I am nit getting my hopes up. I have tried on 20+ fur vests and I don't ever actually like them in my body type. The vest doesn't help in making my midsection look smaller. In fact it accentuates my lack of waist. So I'm hoping that won't be the case.... This time.

301: pleated and preppy

I have really been into preppy looking clothes lately. I really was inspired by this picture and wanted a black, pleated skirt. A couple Saturday's ago the Gap had a special promotion where everything was 40% off in the store. And I found a pleated skirt. It was exactly what I was looking for! Be on the lookout for a WIW post. I definitely emulated Kourtney more than I did Whitney. I was dressing for work and needed to be more dressy than casual.

300: House of Harlow 1960 necklace

Have any of you ever been in a Nordstrom store that has a Trend Accessories department? It is a small area, generally on the second floor, that carries a mix of trend right product from up and coming vendors. Well the region that I work in just had three of these departments installed. One in Vegas and two Colorado. I had had a few things on my list to buy when the shops opened. The HOH 1960 jewelry being at the top of my list!

I bought this GORGEOUS abalone sunburst necklace. The chain is LONG and the pendant is big. My favorite type of necklace. I love long necklaces because they help elongate a short torso. Being short waisted and busty these necklaces do wonders for me.

I am so excited to wear my necklace.

299: Cable knit sweater

My obsession with sweaters continues to grow.
As it gets colder and colder in CA (it has been colder then it ever has been at this time of year!) I want more and more to keep warm. My favorite is my cable knit pullover sweater from the Gap.

I saw Jessica in this outfit and knew I wanted to emulate it the best that I could.

{image via gossipcenter.com}

Let's give Jess credit for wearing a cute and flattering outfit.
{moment of silence}

She has been a little off in some of things that she has been wearing lately.
She doesn't always wear the right things for her body type.

BUT this outfit is darling and looks great on her.
The sweater looks cozy, the boots are an amazing color and I am dying over her Prada leopard handbag.
her necklace also helps elongate her body.

Plus her looks like it did when Ken used to do it and she looks HAPPY.

Happiness does WONDERS for the face.
So SMILE, my friends!

298: Oxfords

It took me forever to buy onto the Oxford shoe trend.
I am usually the first to jump on any shoe trend so that says a lot! But I LOVE them now and think that they are a great option for a flat that still looks stylish.

These two celebs are wearing them with totally different outfits. It shows the versatility of the shoe.

{image via starstyleinc.com}

I love every single thing about this non-matching outfit.
the shrunken blazer, the tights, amazing handbag and the Oxford's.
She makes anything look good.
While nothing necessarily goes together, it looks like an amazing outfit.

{image via justjared.com}

How cute does Jessica Alba look on Thanksgiving day?
We have seen that scarf on her before and I am totally digging her grommet skirt!
Her shoes stand out and complete the outfit. The brown patent dresses up the shoe while coordinating with the brown in her scarf. On a black background the accessories stand out.

297: Cargo Capri's

Capri pants have been going strong for years now.
It is a length that you can expect to find in store.
These pants definitely have a more casual feel to them.

Dress them up, dress them down or accessorize them.
They are versatile and look good on anyone (unless you have cankles. Sorry they will only emphasize them :()

Here are a couple of different ways to wear them.

{image via starstyleinc.com}

I love how Hilary looks "tough".
Her beanie and booties give her outfit an edgier look.
The yellow was a good, strong color choice.
She softened up the look by wearing a cardigan.

{image via gossipcenter.com}

Vanessa has casual boho down to a science.
She knows how to make the most out of one piece of clothing and rock it.
her olive green cargo's are trend right and look amazing with a classic black tank top.
I love the whiskey colored accessories.
Her belt and peep toe clogs complement and complete the look.

11.28.2010

296: One Shoulder Dresses

One shoulder dresses have been all the rage.
Here are some of my favorites...

{image via starstyleinc.com}

Hilary LOOKS amazing. Can I have her body???
{image via hillsfreak.blogspot.com}

Lo took a risk in this dress.
She is usually very conservative and this is quite trendy.
The cut is fantastic and I love the gold.

{image via peoplestylewatch.com}

Mandy Moore is the cutest.
This fuchsia dress is such an amazing color on her.
And I LOVE the Jimmy Choo 'Privates' in the gold sparkles.

{iamge via starstyleinc.com}

Obsessed with this dress.
the snake print is so fun and flirty.
The dress fits her well and the belt shows off her tiny waist.

SJP in Halston Heritage.
The House of Halston has been revived and is back on the map!
The fabric is incredible and her shoes are fierce.
She looks like Carrie :)

Sunday Sharing {6}

What a CRAZY week. Working Retail during Holiday Season is exhausting. And it JUST started. EEEK!

Black Friday Madness...had everyone out and shopping! The stores were busy. I checked my Facebook on the way to work and saw that 10+ friends had been out since 3am hitting the stores. I had two other friends Twitter WHY they wouldn't be out on Black Friday...they worked retail for many years and KNOW that the fun is gone. If I don't have to work a Black Friday in the future you can bet that I will be in bed. NOT out with the crazies. :) NO offense to those that do!

I have made a life change when it came to my eating habits and it has been exciting watching my weight drop. I have lost 23 pounds since August 15. Woohoo!! I am just trying to maintain my current weight for the month of December as I work INSANE hours and don't have time to prepare my meals every day. Wish me luck!

As you know I have been  trying to accomplish 365 posts, one a day (on average) for 2010. I took a break in May and don't really post on the weekends. I have scheduled out posts until the 1st. On Wednesday I will have 62 posts left. If I post TWO posts a day, EVERY day I will have accomplished my goal! Is it possible with my work schedule??? I sure as hell hope so :)

Have any of you started your Christmas shopping? I will get most of mine done by the end of the week. PLUS side to working in a retail environment. I am asking for everyone to contribute to buy me an iPad! I am so excited. I buy everything that I want. I am a nightmare to try and get a Christmas List out of!

Apparently this while post revolved around the Holidays! Get SHOPPING! Let me know if you need help, suggestions etc.

295: Sock it to me baby!

{image via gossipcenter.com}

This outfit may not be for everyone.
in fact, many people probably couldn't pull it off.
But Ashley can.

I think she looks adorable.
She has this boho thing going on and definitely has a unique sense of style.

OTK socks and boots are a huge trend right now.
And she has added some kind of fur piece to her ensemble.
I like it...because it is different.

What do you think?

294: Blushing

This Versace dress is insane.
The color is gorgeous (and very hard to wear).
The fringe is an interesting detail.
The neckline is different and makes her chest look amazing.
I love how Blake adds a chunkier, dark shoe and chunky bangles. Pairing unexpected accessories really make this look.

Blake is pretty close to perfection.

11.26.2010

293: Shades of Gray

Grey or Gray.
I have been adding this color to my wardrobe SO much lately.
It is so super versatile and is the "new black".
Basically it is Black's little sister.
Slimming and looks good on everyone and every body type.

I have had this pic of Kim saved for a few weeks.
It is from one of her filming days in NYC.

The motorcyle legging is different and I love the colorblock drapey sweater. Her hair looks sleek and her booties are banging. Her Hermes 'Birkin' is classic and iconic
It is {another} outfit perfection for Miss Kim K.
Did you watch her on NBC's "2010 most fascinating people" last night? She is HOT, HOT, HOT.

{image via starstyleinc.com}

292: Ombre or Degrade...what do you say?

Last year I decided to stop bleaching my hair white blonde.
And I have LOVED that decision about 97% of the time.
It is SO much easier to maintain and I look like I am not trying so hard.
Trying hard to be WHAT I am not sure but I feel like being my natural DIRTY/dark blonde suits me.

BUT it can get boring.
I posted about wanting more "roots" and lighter tips.
I got the ombre/degrade/roots look about a month ago and I LOVE it.

It looks like a mix of Hilary and Lauren in these pics.

I had a REALLY good hair day and I thought I would share!
What do you think????

{another GRAINY iPhone pic. Just go with it :)}

291: Tights

I am a HUGE fan of tights.
The more opaque the better.
While many style bloggers LOVE colored tights, I stick with black, dark brown and textured (usually in black. Maybe gray or beige). I do not feel comfortable in the crazy colors but I totally think they look cute on others!

Tights are a great way to dress up an outfit.
Keep you warm{er} in the winter.
And slim your areas that need it!

I saw that Jessica Simpson was wearing the Spanx lace 'bloom' tights a few days ago.
{image via justjared.com}

I bought these about a month ago and I LOVE them.
Comfy, thick and stylish.
And they are about $28 bucks.
Not bad for a control top pair!

{image via nordstrom.com}

Textured tights are a HUGE trend.
Pick up a pair HERE

What I Wore: My new favorite outfit

I am warning you now....
Late night pic, like after being up alllll day!
Awful background, one shot and I went with it.
Not my finest moment. By far.

Buuuutttttt...

I am IN LOVE with this outfit.
I felt so cute and I was super comfy.
Both PLUSES in my book.

I have been collecting Taupe and Olive green pieces.
And they just work SO well together.
I liked combining the utilitarian inspired pants with a chunky knit sweater and romantic looking shoes.

{personal image}

Sweater: Gap Cable knit sweater. Found HERE
Pants: J Brand 'Houlihan' knock offs. Old Navy
(p.s. YOU need these.)
Shoes: Steve Madden 'Caryssa'. ON SALE in suede or in all sizes in Patent

Tuesday Travel Style {7}

This is an outfit that you are either going to love or hate.
I LOVE it.
Nothing goes together and yet it totally works.

I am digging the fur...obvi!
But I love the hat, tweed, rugby stripes and beat up boots.

Sienna looks stylish in the "I just got out of bed and threw on whatever is by my feet and I don't care because I look damn good" way.

She is leaving Heathrow ariprot, probably headed out on Holiday.
I am jealous :p

290: Good Style reads

I LOVE to read.
I devour books and magazines.
You should see my bedroom floor...
it's not all clothes in those piles.

If you are looking to pick up a book or a magazine this weekend, might I suggest buying Lauren Conrad's "Style" and Vogue's Best dressed issue.
{image via starstyleinc.com}

{image via amazon.com}

Both are easy to read with great pictures.
(who said picture books are for babies???)
I am a visual learner and pictures make everything easier.

Whether you have a champagne taste on a beer budget...or can just plain afford the champagne, both reads will benefit you!

So there you have it.
An escape from your crazy family on Turkey day,
or something to help pass the time on that long road trip, a great option for curling up by the fire, or snuggled up next to your love.
An easy, inspiring fashion read.

Enjoy!

Two hundred EIGHTY nine: Furry Coats

{image via celebstyle.com}

There is a chill in the air...
And I cannot wait to bundle up.
In my {faux} fur.

Hopefully I will bust it out this weekend.
Maybe at my 10 year HS reunion After Party??
THAT will definitely get me some looks!
T-Town is not ready for my fashion! Lol.

Anyways...I hope I look as amazing as these ladies.
They look comfy and sexy but not over the top!

11.22.2010

Two hundred EIGHTY eight: Lacy, Lacy dresses

Continuing on with my current lace lust.
I have collected pics of some of my favs in lacy dresses.
What I love is that all of the dresses have a different take in the trend.

These ladies make lace look easy to wear.

Ashley Greene in peek a boo lace.

{image via olsensanonymous.blogspot.com}

Ashley Olsen in a trendy short, sheath dress.
I want this dress. Badly.

Ginnifer Goodwin in a Red and Nude number.
I LOVE this one. A lot!

{image via peoplestylewatch.com}

Rebecca Hall in a pleated, drapey dress.
The shoes are INCREDIBLE.
{image via peoplestylewatch.com}

Sienna Miller is a GORGEOUS tiered, strapless number.
Of all the dresses this is the one that makes my heart pitter patter!

{images via JustJared.com}

Zoe Saldana ALWAYS looks like the ultimate trend setter.
This dress is fun, flirty and different.
She knows how to stand out.

Two hundred EIGHTY seven: Lacy, Lacy

I think I found the perfect outfit for a night out.
It is the perfect mix of classy and sexy.
And It is the next outfit that I have to copy!

{image via hillsfreak.blogspot.com}

The Lacy, nude and black skirt is too die for.
It is the perfect length...not too short.
I am obsessing over the BF/Tuxedo blazer.
I love the blend of the two trends.
And basic black tee and sexy stilettos.
This is the outfit the I think anyone can pull off.

And Kristin has never been my favorite.
Lauren will always have the spot.
But she is slowly starting to grow on me.

Two hundred EIGHTY six: Free People Sweater

I am not a Free People fan.
I have a hard time spending money on pieces that I can find for waaayyyyy cheaper and looks pretty similar.
I feel like they don't really have an identity as a label and tend to do a little bit of everything decently instead of focusing on doing something GREAT!

With that said I fell in LOVE with this sweater that Ashlee Simpson in wearing. And much to my surprise it is by Free People. And I think I have to have it.

{images via justjared.com}

I think the whole outfit is darling.
Although Ashlee is SUPER SKINNY and I don't think it looks good.
But I love the J Brand coated leggings and YSL Trib Too pumps.

You can buy the sweater from Nordstrom.
I will be too!

Sunday Sharing {5}

Thanksgiving is on Thursday and the CA weather is actually cooperating this year. It has been rainy and cold. Which I enjoy during the holidays (just not before). I have spent my weekend bundled up in cozy sweaters, scarves and beanies. And sleeping! Lots of sleeping! Hope you had an enjoyable weekend!

Holy bananas! Look at Kelly Osbourne on the cover of Shape magazine. She looks incredible! She has lost 50 pounds and has motivated me to keep working on my fitness {and eating habits :/}

Yesterday the Gap store was 40% off. Of Everything. I bought 6 things for $120 bucks. STEAL of a deal friends! Steal!

Lanvin for H&M came out in stores yesterday. I didn't wake up in time to get down there before EVERYTHING was sold out. I heard it was a frenzy! I wish I could have gotten a piece of the collection. Did any of you???

Have you seen the Jessica Simpson Collection dresses? They are darling. And I want like FIVE dresses from the website. Check them out HERE.

If you create a "wish list" at Nordstrom.com you can win $2,000. You should definitely check it out.

AND if you have had your eye on a Designer Handbag, many of them will be going on SALE, 40% OFF, on FRIDAY 11/26. Get in and check them out!

11.19.2010

What I Wore: Cardigan and Bow

I was super inspired when I wrote this post at the beginning of the week. And I made sure to use that inspiration while packing for my work trip. I "copied" Kim's outfit with pieces that I owned and I was very pleased with the results.

I got numerous compliments today.
Numerous meaning four.
That's a BIG deal.
To me at least :)

{image...ANOTHER grainy iPhone pic}

Button up Blouse: Gap Perfect Shirt
Wide leg trousers: Gap from last year, Similar pair
Scarf: Alexander McQueen (yes you can make skulls classy)
Shoes (you can't see them): Steve Madden 'Caryssa' in Green Suede (no longer available)

What do you think?
Did I pull off the look???

Two hundred EIGHTY five: Ladylike Luxe

Nothing SCREAMS ladylike louder than Valentino.
Bows, florals, rosettes, strappy, neutrals, ruffles etc.
The House of Valentino is one of my favorites.
It is usually the first show I look at when they hit Style.com.
Everything is always so pretty.

{image via peoplestylewatch.com}

Speaking of REALLY pretty...
Anne Hathaway is gorgeous. Flawless.
She is wearing a white Valentino frock and it is every bit of ladylike that you can imagine.
I love the BOW.
The lace is not overtly sexy.
And the ruffles are demure.

Obsessed with this whole outfit.

Can we talk about her hair for one second?
Shiny and perfectly coiffed.
Naturally radiant.

I actually think I hate her ;)

Two hundred EIGHTY four: Ladylike

I have really been into ladylike looks.
I am trying to find the fun in "dressing up" for work again.
Sometimes getting dressed for a professional work environment can be a bore.

{image via hillsfreak.blogspot.com}

Olivia Palermo has one of the most INSANE wardrobe's ever!
I am pretty much in love with everything the girl puts on.
This outfit is super ladylike.
Her wide leg, cuffed trousers and tie blouse are the perfect work outfit.
With inspiration like this I am sure that I will find some FUN in dressing {for work} really soon!

11.17.2010

Two hundred EIGHTY three: Army girl

Camouflage skinny J Brands and a top knot.
Not exactly the combination that you expect to see but Hilary pulls it off gracefully. Hil has been seen multiple times in her choice of military inspired pants. Most people are wearing the 'Houlihan' and she stands out.

{image via starstyleinc.com}

She pairs her pants with a simple long sleeved black tunic and classic YSL Trib Too pumps. She is ROCKING big earrings, which is a signature look.
(Hilary always wears a scarf, over sized earrings or BOTH)

I mentioned her top knot (or bun. whatever you want to call it) because this has been my go to hair style lately. I mentioned on Sunday about a tutorial that really helps create the look. Love it!

Remember when you wear tougher pieces you need to add in feminine touches.

Two hundred EIGHTY two: WHOA! Wedges

Wedges are probably my most favorite type of shoe.
Chic and comfort all in one.
And seriously...the HIGHER the better!

I have seen this shoe by Giuseppe Zanotti on a couple of different celebs and I fall in love a little deeper everytime I see them.

The latest celeb to be seen in them is Kim Kardashian
{shocker...I know}
{image via starstyleinc.com}

{image via starstyleinc.com}

Can these shoes be more amazing?
I don't think that they are available anymore.
I have searched every major website.

I would be 6'2" and be a very happy girl :)

11.16.2010

What I Wore: Military and Chambray

{personal image via my iPhone}

First off...sorry for the grainy pic!
I swear most of the time no one is around when I need a picture taken, or when I REMEMBER to have a picture taken.

My Tuesday Travel post had a picture of Jessica Alba in a Military jacket and a Chambray top. I mentioned that I would be coming up with my own version.
Well it happened sooner than I thought so I decided to post today to match!

Jacket: Marc by Marc Jacobs (last seen here)
Chambray button up: Hinge from Nordstrom
Leggings: Hue
OTK Boots: Steve Madden
Leopard iPhone case: Juicy Couture

(please excuse my DISASTER of a room)

Tuesday Travel Style {6}

{image via starstyleinc.com}

I would have never thought to wear my chambray button up with my olive green military jacket.
Until now.
I am copying this outfit. Love!

I love the casualness of Jessica's outfit.

Traveling all the time takes it out of you.
You want to look nice but you know that you have to undress to your bottom layer at security, take off your shoes and walk barefoot or in your socks, you are rushing to get to your gate (which is always the last one in the terminal) and you only have so much room on the plane for your bulky jacket, luggage, laptop and handbag.
Traveling is not as glamorous as it seems. Haha.
So you have to dress wisely!

Jessica has her travel style down!
