What I Wore: Ways to Wear

Happy Monday!

I am so excited to blog today because I have been DYING to show you all these pants. Last week's leopard print dress post was quite popular with you all and I am hoping you like this look just as much. I have been lusting over these pants since seeing The Budget Babe's Instagram Fall Preview pics back in June! I love anything leopard print and knew that I had to have these the moment I saw them. My friend, Amber over at Real Girl Glam, LOVES leopard as much as I do and I knew that she would have to have these pants as well. I asked her to post with me about how to wear these pants. We actually styled them very similarly (I shouldn't be surprised since we have similar taste)! Maybe I can talk her into a couple more posts were we challenge ourselves and each other to wear show how versatile these pants can be!

I knew that I wanted my look to be a littler dressier than normal. This is a look that I would wear on a dinner date, for a special occasion or a Holiday. I use a dark lip and accessories to make my outfit look a little sassier. I hardly ever wear lipstick so when it is on you know that I am trying a little bit harder. Haha. The cowl neck of the shirt gives the basic black some pop and I think looks fancier. It was perfect for showing off my Statement necklace, which I think completes the look. I am OBSESSED with these pumps and I am SO glad that I bought them. I have worn them THREE times since Wednesday. Since they are the color of the season I knew that wearing the same color lip would complement and make the color stand out with such a bold print. 
Just an FYI, I hemmed the pants an inch so that the hit above my ankle instead of at my ankle. It helped elongate my legs!

Speaking of accessories, I want to talk a minute about my jewelry. I know that I am late to the game but I attended my first Stella and Dot party. I am obsessed. I found ten things that I had to have, couldn't live with out, wanted so bad! I know, I am a bit dramatic. I was super impressed with the quality but most importantly I LOVED the designs. What I Wore: Peplum Pretty

This weekend was all about celebrations for me. 

I spent a lot of time with my parents since they are moving three hours north to Central California to be closer to my sister, bro in law, nephew and soon to be niece TODAY. I respect their decision and reasons for moving but I am sad because I have always had them within a hour of me. I have also had them living with me for the last few months as we did the remodel on my house. It was a really cool and challenging experience to live with my parents after so many years. I feel blessed to see how much they have grown as husband and wife, parents and people. I am so lucky to have them as an example in my life! I also got to celebrate a super close friend, who is pretty much like another little sister to me, at her bridal shower. Celebrating LOVE always renews my faith in the opposite sex. ;)

I wore this outfit to the Bridal Shower. The theme was Black and White and we were asked to wear one or both of the shades. I bought this top a few weeks ago and I was excited to finally try the peplum trend. I have to admit I didn't think I could wear it. I am short waisted and have a pretty long torso so I have a hard time with tops that have a waist line in it. The trick was finding a top with a longer peplum so that it wasn't too short on me. I pulled out my trusty Old Navy Rockstar's BUT I had to wear a belt, and not just wear the belt but use the FIFTH hole. I used to have to use the FIRST hole on all of my belts! SO that was kind of exciting. Since I was wearing all black I thought that these heels would be a pretty pop. I loved this outfit.

What I Wore: Weather Channel

Reading blogs (and twitter) is better than watching the Weather Channel. I know what the weather is like in every town, USA. Which means that you all know that So Cal has been scorching the last week or so. We have also experienced crazy, random rain storms and the most amazing sunsets EVER! I am 98% sure that most Cali bloggers will be mentioning this in their posts. When it is that hot you don't want to leave your house, let alone wear clothes. Makes for some interesting outfits here in La La land.

This is the first time in 10 years that I have a home that has air conditioning. Most beach cities have older homes and didn't build AC in them because the "ocean breeze" is so good. I have thoroughly enjoyed my AC and don't know what I would do without it. Spoiled, yes. I am in love! With that said I didn't leave my house until 7:15pm. Not once. I sat inside and enjoyed a balmy 71 degrees. I found it too hot to lay out even (choosing NOT to lay out is against my religion so you know it was hot). I HAD to go grocery shopping so I threw on this outfit. It was still hot and I felt over dressed :/

I love my maxi skirts. Easiest article of clothing to wear. I also cannot get enough of my Kendra Scott basics. The necklace and earrings go with everything. They were the best purchases EVER!

I received so many compliments when I wore this sweater.

On the blog, Twitter and in real life too!

Everyone told me that tangerine/coral was my color.

I kind of agreed and have been on the search ever since.

I have also been searching for a short sleeved, flowy blouse.

When I found this Trouve blouse at Nordstrom I knew I hit the jackpot.

I. LOVE. This. Blouse.

I paired it with wide leg trousers and gold jewelry.

I loved wearing this bright colored blouse with all neutrals.

It was simple and put together.

II do not know when 1/3 of my closet turned out to be Gap products. I have gotten some amazing deals (I NEVER buy stuff from the Gap at full price. EVER!) and they carry some great pieces to complete a wardrobe. Their jeans fit me so well and I feel comfortable in them. Plus I get more compliments on my Gap jeans then my premium denim.

I am definitely not ashamed to share that I am highly influenced by celebs in determining my own personal style. When I saw this sweater in the store I knew I had to have it. When I saw it on a couple of celebs right after that, I knew I needed to pick it up asap. And I am so glad that I did. Comfy, cozy and chic. I will be living in this all winter long.

I originally posted that I was going to get it in the gray/purple color combo but when I saw it in person I knew that the black/blue/taupe combo was the best looking.

I have been trying to take more pics of my outfits to post (I find it hard to pose and feel comfortable :(). I got a couple this weekend and I am excited to share my leopard loving on myself and not just others!

Thursday has become Hilary Duff day.

I love when celebs have a reason to dress amazing and MRS. Comrie is on her book tour.

She wrote a book called, Elixir, that I picked up yesterday. I'll let you know how it is.

Anyways, I digress. I absolutely LOVE stylish, casual outfits. And I believe that scarves are the best accessories EVER. The infinity scarf is a large loop that you can wrap to create a full look. This textured look is a great way to update her white tee and distressed jeans. I think her hair looks awesome half up and though you cannot see it she is carrying the Givenchy 'Nightingale'. Which is possibly my next handbag purchase!

Hil has her uniform on...scarf and large earrings.

178: Khloe and her shoes

Khloe tends to be the edgiest dresser of the trio. She is known for taking basics and giving them a subtle pop. Today she is wearing Leopard Louboutins. Those baby's retail for $1045. I love thhat they are a bootie pump...not quite either but very trend right. Khloe is also carrying the highly coveted Givenchy Nightengale. This bag is definitely a new "it" bag even though it would never want to be called that. Khloe has really been looking so beautiful lately. Love looks good on her!
