My Nordstrom Anniversary Picks #NSale

Wow...
My stint at Nordstrom went by so fast. If you have been reading my blog for awhile you will know that I worked for Nordstrom for 8 years. I had a very significant and fulfilling career there. I held various positions, followed my heart and made my dreams a reality. As I grew up, learned who I was and where I wanted my life to go; I decided that it was time to leave to pursue different dreams about two years ago. I look back on my time at Nordstrom with so much love. I made incredible connections, lasting relationships and know that I have a "home" there. So going back to help my mentor out for five weeks was an opportunity that I could not pass up. I did a job that was brand new, I didn't know what to expect and I learned SO much. It was fun but I am ready to settle back into my normal, regular life.

Since I was the guru and manager of all things Anniversary Early Access (this is a special offering to Nordstrom Card Holders to shop the Anniversary sale before the sale is open to the public) I thought that I would share my picks from the sale. I have truly honed in on my style, what looks good on me. I tend to favor basic pieces that I can sass up. If you like my style or gravitate to similar pieces that I wear, you will like this list!

I am a huge fan of this blouse. It is so easy to dress up or down. It looks amazing with everything!

I would wear plaid 24/7 if I wouldn't look like I was always wearing the same thing. Haha. This dress is a fun and different way to wear plaid. Paired with boties it is the perfect fall look.

Wildfox is one of my favorite "trend" brands. I love their outlandish and cheeky prints and sayings. This is a great top to throw on with distressed skinny denim.

I am NOT super girly and I don't LOVE bows BUT I am in love with this sweater. This color combo is perfect without being too girly. I would wear this with oversized BF jeans and a chunky, neutral platform shoe.

This sweater stood out to me because I loved the small speckles of color that is interspersed throughout the sweater (hard to see in the pic). Plus I loved the added glam of the jeweled collar.
Hinge Jewel Embellished Sweater

YOU GUYS... You ALL know that this is my most favorite work out piece that I own (in three colors). When I saw that it went on sale I may or may jot have bought all four! OOPSIE! Buy it! You will not be disappointed. It is work out attire perfection.

I know that I recently converted to Lululemon pants but I have been a Zella fan for years. Plus they are on sale for a GREAT price. I wear these to yoga and in my every day attire. They are thick and stay up! PLUS I just bought a MEDIUM. What What!! My previous pair(s) was a XL. I am so stoked!
Zella 'Live In' Leggings

I am still in SUPER love with the pointed toe stiletto. This is a fun and sassy update for any girl! I love the straps and studs. Classy, rocker chic!
Sam Edelman 'Darla' Pump

Everyone needs a nude peep toe pump in their closet. It literally goes with everything. This pair is gorgeous and at such a great price!
This bangle is a bit on the pricier side so it is great to pick it up when it is on sale. I own it in a few colors and it is always the perfect piece to add to any arm party.

While I did not personally buy everything on this list (I do have SOME self control) I do have very similar pieces in my closet that I go to and wear all of the time. I didn't include denim because I am still exploring what designer brands look best on me. I did pick up a pair of J Brands that were on clearance that I love. I also bought a RAD sweater that sold out so I couldn't share it with you. AND I bought some white leopard Nike Free 5.0's that also sold out (super similar to this pair I pinned months ago). I will be instagramming what I bought through out the week so make sure that you follow along (@FashionistaMMC)

What I Wore: Blushing

I. Can't. Stop. Buying. Maxi Dresses.
#truestory

This dress is my latest buy from Kiki La'Rue and to say that I am obsessed would be an understatement. I LOVE the color combo. Blush and Taupe are faves of mine and they just so happen to be great colors on me. I paired the dress with my denim vest to give the look a little something extra. To play up the blush color I wore my rose gold bangles, hoops and watch AND wore my most favorite sandal in Rose Gold Glitter. While the dress is super comfy I think the look made me look chic and pulled together.

What do you think of this look?

This outfit was inspired by a picture of Sophia Bush that I pinned on Pinterest. I LOVE these Gap pants but have felt limited in what I could wear them with due to the blue of the pants, they are so dark and don't look like denim. I am weird about pairing colors with certain blues. After seeing Sophia pair her polka dot pants with a gray sweatshirt and heels I knew I could pull off that look. Since it is warm I found a lightweight sweatshirt with short sleeves and had my outfit. I paired it with my Zara heels and complementary jewelry pieces. Love how it came together. Don't mind my cray cray hair... this is how it ends up every day now that I am working in the store. Lol. I am taking messy bun to a new level ;)

What I Wore: Mint Chip

My inspiration and creativity has been very spotty lately. Some days hours I am FULL of great ideas, photo sesh locations and words, then nothing. It is craziness I tell ya! I have been utilizing my Pinterest boards to keep myself going. I created (wrote down) quite a few outfits that I want to try in the upcoming weeks. Luckily Spring is just around the corner and I have great options for the warmer days and cooler nights!

It has become apparent, after looking through my closet and drawers, that I have an obsession with gray tops. Sweatshirts, Tees and Tanks I tend to gravitate towards gray. So when I saw this look, I knew I had all of the pieces to pull it off. It is a casual cool feel and perfect for Spring!

What I Wore: Winter Maxi Dress

Happy Hump Day!!
I swear Wednesday's make me really happy for some weird reason. I think because the majority of the week is behind us. This week I have gotten in a couple killer work outs, I have a date planned and I have gotten a lot of blog stuff done. Pretty productive if you ask me! I am still playing around with the camera and I am hoping that I can get in some more practice this week. As long as the rain goes away!! As you can see I am still playing with lighting along with trying different places to go and at different times of the day. I included a pic (the first one) that is a little darker to show my growth and progress.

We had a few days where it was 85 degrees and it was absolutely glorious! I have had this dress for a couple years and hardly ever wear it. I forget that it is in my closet until I see it on someone else randomly. This dress was perfect for the weather. Since it is still winter I wore this dress with booties for two reasons. One, I have seen other girls pull off this look and wanted to try it since it is season appropriate. Two, I really like wearing a neutral color with black. I threw on a lot of gold and black jewelry to complete the look. I felt like it was a kind of seventies, boho vibe. Which is my favorite look!

Winter Maxi Dress
This was my first location attempt. Too Dark! But I liked the pose.
SO. MANY. DUCKS and BIRDS. See all the poop? Kind of Grossed out. Haha
I am still using my mini, flexible tripod. It worked well on the bench.
It was SO windy but made my dress look rad!

What I Wore:

Dress: Old Navy, old (Similar, Similar, Similar)
Booties: Mossimo 'Kaelyn'
Rings: Alexis Bittar, old (WANT this one badly

What I Wore: Summer Uniform Revisited

I sat down to write this post and got sucked into Pinterest. Oopsie!
I am always so inspired after perusing that site. Anyways...I digress. It is really starting to warm up and feel like Summer in this part of So Cal. I could NOT be happier. All I need is "the sun and the sand and a drink in my hand" and I am one happy camper. I have some exciting things planned, my backyard is complete so I cannot wait to entertain and I am in a good, happy place. I finally feel like this Summer may be one of my best ever :)

This outfit definitely seems boring after yesterday BUT you will see me in some version of this look 3-4x a week. No joke. You may remember that I wrote about my Summer Uniform HERE and am wearing this exact outfit in different colors HERE. It honestly is so comfy, looks somewhat put together, I can go from the office to dinner and it just works for me. I will definitely modify the look a tiny bit when the weather hits the hundreds by wearing sleeveless blouses. My favorite part of this outfit is that the blouse has a pale pink in it. The pink matched my rose gold glitter sandals and all of my rose gold jewelry. It definitely was the perfect touches to sass up the look a little bit.

 What I Wore:

Top: Old Navy Camp Shirt in Navy Plaid (it is more purple than navy FYI)
Shorts: Old Navy (check in store for the purple color pair I am wearing)

What I Wore: One Shirt...Two Ways

I have to admit, being fashionable or stylish ALL of the time is daunting. I am definitely someone who wears the same pieces over and over again. Instead of only taking pictures of the best outfit I decided to show you two ways I wore the same top. I love the ombre top and have had a lot of fun pairing it with color.

The first look is from last Friday. I wore this to my friend's 30th Birthday party at Lucky Strike Bowling Alley. It was cute but still appropriate to bowl in. I still love my red skinnies and think that red ALWAYS looks good with black and gray. The second look is what I wore to work yesterday. Basic dark denim shorts paired with fuschia heels was the perfect complement to the tee. The shoes pulled the whole look together and made a statment.

One Shirt... Two Ways

 What I Wore:

Top: Stylemint
Jeggings: Old Navy Rockstar (same pair in Pink)
Black Wedges: Dolce Vita for Target, old
Fuschia Wedges: Steve Madden 'Gretta'
Key Necklace: Lagos

Watch: Michele Black Face Urban (newer, smaller version)
Bracelets: Argento Vivo (similar) and Alexis Bittar

What I Wore: Pocahontas

I am so sad that another great weekend has come to an end!
I swear the funner my weekends are, the more depressed I get when I have to start the work week. Speaking of fun, my weekend was one of the best I have had in awhile. It was birthday extravaganza. On Saturday my bestie turned 3-0 and her husband, mother in law and sister in law through her an incredible surprise party. Good friends and family, amazing food and open bar...let's just say that I had my dad pick me up (30 going on 18? Or Super smart? SMART...DUI check points are everywhere on holiday weekends. My dad really is the best!). On Sunday I had a friend in town so we went to lunch and then shopping before heading out to Newport Beach for another friend's party. Dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, getting to see my sissy and staying at an incredible villa was awesome. Monday included brunch overlooking the ocean and a BBQ with great friends. Now you can see why I am sad for it all to end!

I want to wish my BFF, Sarah, a very HAPPY Birthday! She is one of my biggest supporters and has been with me every step of the way. She was the person who really pushed me to start a Style Blog! I am lucky to have her on my side! Wishing you the most amazing and blessed year! Love you!

I wore this exact outfit on Saturday night and the skirt again on Sunday night after I switching up my top and shoes. I was called Pocahontas more than a few times due to the awesome, sequin tribal print skirt. I am in love with it! I first saw it on The Fashionable ESQ and went out immediately to find it! I wanted to play down the sequins to make them more wearable. A basic tee, grandpa cardi and sandals gave me the casual look I needed. I really like how this look came together.

How was your Memorial Weekend?
Do anything fun??

What I Wore: ReStyled

Last week I introduced you all to my new favorite piece.
So in all blog land fairness I waited a full week to wear it again.
I wanted to change up the look and new that it was the perfect outfit for the Nordstrom Rack at The Block in Orange's "Tweet Up".  The outfit was stylish yet comfortable enough to wear while shopping the store.

Many of you are familiar with Nordstrom Rack stores. Well Orange County is getting a new store that opens TODAY at The Block. It was SO awesome to have the opportunity to check out the store with fellow bloggers, eat delicious appetizers, drink some cocktails and SHOP a brand new store. They had some incredible things, the store was not overwhelming and to be honest it was nice to be at one of their events as a customer. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I didn't do too much damage...though I could have! I NEEDED new running shoes and I picked up a cute Marc by Marc tunic. I made great choices for where I am at in my life and weight loss! If you live in So Cal I highly suggest that you check the store out!

As far as my outfit I was excited to restyle my bed jacket. This time around I picked dark denim bell bottoms (I definitely like the dark denim option better with this jacket), I left the jacket open and belted my pants instead. I added more jewels and had on wood platforms that you couldn't see :)
I felt very pretty. I love this outfit AND the jacket even more.

ReStyled

I FINALLY took a close up pic of my Dana Rebecca necklace.
It's the short, rose gold necklace with the diamond bar. It goes with everything and is so striking. I love it!

What I Wore:
Jacket: Mossimo via Target
Tank: LC Lauren Conrad
Jeans: Old Navy
Shoes: LC Lauren Conrad (no longer available)
Belts: Target
Bracelet: Jewelmint 'Birdcage'
Rings: Kendra Scott 'Tela' and Alexis Bittar

P.S...
It is the First of the Month, have you checked out the new Stylemint and Shoemint releases?? I want the Stylemint 'Arden Pullover' in red (which hasn't been released) and the 'Perry'. As for the Shoemint offer I have been lusting after the 'Chloe' since the launch. I love the turquoise but will go with the taupe. Those shoes are SO me!
