What I Wore: Flannels and Sunnies

Today was one of those days that I just wanted to throw on some comfies and call it a day. I tend to favor the basics these days and dressing up is far from my mind on my day off. I threw on this outfit today, laughing at how "boyish" I looked and even tweeted sarcastically about putting it on the blog. WELL my friends, I got a rsounding YES, post it. So you can thank my #RLOT gals for encouraging this not so fashiony outfit. They love seeing bloggers looking "real". This is me, more often than not, and I am not ashamed. I am not a glamazon 24/7. Not every outfit is planned and styled to perfection. My style changes with my mood. I try things that don't work more often than they do. I am not a slave to trends but I think they are fun to play with and try on. I wear flip flops 95% of the year, rain or shine. I like UGGS. Half of you probably don't get my style or think that it is fashionable. AND that is A-OK.

I have been obsessed with plaid button ups for awhile. I love that in the fall/winter I can wear a thicker version called a flannel. I buy mine in the men's section of Target and they cannot be more comfortable. Paired with my jeggings and flip flops it is the perfect casual, Fall outfit. I have to share a secret with you all. 90% of the time you see pics of me with sunglasses on it is because I am not wearing make up. I don't wear much make up in general but on days off or running errands I definitely don't. So now you know! I bet you fell better now, doncha'? Haha. I think that sunglasses are the number one accessory that makes you look chic and pulled together no matter what you are wearing and make up or not. My sunglasses collection is pretty large and I have some amazing styles. I have been a fanatic since I was in 9th grade. My eye doctor praises me for how little sun damage I have for how light my eye color is. My family and friends make fun of my large glasses but now I have proof that I am not a diva...I am just taking care of my eyes. No damage and no wrinkles. ;)

What I Wore: Born on the 4th of July

My holiday was AWESOME! 

One of the best in a few years.

Everything went according to plan but not without a few minor mishaps. I had an unexpected visitor, my bike tires were flat, and we went to 4 places to find a tire pump. Eventually we grabbed tacos and headed to the beach to meet up with my bestie Sarah, another good friend, Brenda, and their families. We hung out in the sun for a few hours AND I got to ride on a paddle board for the first time. It was SO fun and such a work out. It definitely took awhile to get my rhythm. After leaving the beach we rode bikes for awhile, headed home to clean up and get ready for dinner. I HAVE to have some kind of BBQ food on the 4th so we ate at Lucille's. Rode bikes some more, grabbed ice cream and watched the fireworks. SUCH a good day!

I am such a sucker for wearing red, white and blue on the 4th. I am not into wearing stars, stripes and flags but I love to feel patriotic! I wore a plaid button up with some gauzy shorts and a Panama hat to the beach and bike riding. I chose a pair of red shorts with a sheer white top and army jacket for dinner and fireworks.

What I Wore: Concert in the Park

I didn't quite get the memo that SUMMER is here!

Every summer our city puts on Concerts in the Parks where everyone congregates for picnic dinners, catching up with friends and enjoying some music. Unfortunately I decided to dress for cooler weather (I mean it has been chillier at night. 65 is cold, right?). I really cannot explain why, I just wanted to be comfy and thought that leggings and a sheer plaid shirt (I told you I was obsessed and that it was all I wanted to wear) would be perfect. Well, I was hot. And everyone else was in dresses and maxi skirts. Cool. I now know that I was not dressed appropriately. Haha. Oh well! We had a great time bouncing between a couple groups of friends and eating "snack" food for din din!!

What I Wore: Weekend Wear

I don't know about you but I NEVER want the weekend to end. Not because this weekend was more fun than usual, but because I love how RELAXED everyone seems on the weekends. PLUS, this was the first weekend this month that June Gloom didn't make it's awful appearance.

Most weekends I dress pretty casually... Or sloppy, lazy, not fashionable etc. I like to be comfortable and don't get dressed up unless I have somewhere to be. I LOVE wearing my bathing suit with a dress or a pair of shorts and tee/hoodie and  flip flops. So that is what I am going to share with you today!

I actually DRESSED up on Saturday for my dear friend, Lauren's, birthday lunch at Las Brisas in Laguna Beach. But...did I take outfit pics??? Nope. I can't take pics by myself in front of people. Weird, I know. I need to get over it! Here is a cropped pic of my outfit from our group pic.

I spent all of Sunday in bathing suit. I pulled a dress out of my closet that I LOVE but feel like it is too short to wear in public but realized that it would make a great cover up. I was actually inspired after seeing this pic.

I love this Tolani cover up but cannot spend $187 on something I would wear for a few minutes to and from the pool/beach. I got this dress at Forever 21 over a year ago. The material is so soft and silky. I think it is a great "Look for Less" option! What do you think?

I put on this outfit for lounging around my house. And this is a perfect example of what I put on after a long day or when I know I won't be doing much. I DID run to pick up dinner in this. So it made a public appearance. HA!

What I Wore: I don't ALWAYS wear heels...PROOF!

The time has come, to admit to you all, that I DON"T live in heels 100% of the time. It's more like 90%. I ran out to grab a salad today (because I clearly didn't grocery shop before being sick and I need nourishment) and I threw on this outfit.

I have to tell you that you must not be fooled by the accessories. I have not washed my hair or worn make up for days. Gross, I know. THANK the lord for accessories. They made me look very put together today. For the eight minutes I left the house. Yay me!
