What I Wore: Dressy Shorts

I am a pin-a-holic. I have talked about it before and I think that most of you are as well. If you aren't, you should be. Ha! While for the most part I have an intense L-O-V-E for Pinterest, it does have some downfalls in my eyes. More on that next week. BUT when I pinned these shorts a year ago I didn't think that I would actually end up buying them. But I did. After seeing them on Heather and Amber via Instagram, my happy butt headed to my local TJ Maxx (still not a fan btw). I found them, they fit, they were in a beautiful color and they were cheap. All wins in my book.

I wore this outfit to my friend's 30th Birthday party. It was perfect for the weather, I went from wine and apps to outdoor patio and dancing in a "club". Since the shorts are fancier I dressed them down with a basic tank and denim jacket. Added leopard wedges for some texture and contrast. Simple jewelry and over-sized sunnies completed the look.

Happy Monday, friends!

Last week ended up being super busy with my quick getaway to see my fam and work. Throw in the rain (you all know how I feel about the rain. BOO!) and I didn't have much time to take pics or blog. SO sorry about that! Don't worry though... I have my weekly editorial calendar filled out, I have some pics in the arsenal and I am ready to rock the blog this week! I swear my creativity hits at the weirdest times!

I am REALLY trying to be more purposeful in the things that I am passionate about. My passion continues to be focused on my fitness (which includes diet), this blog and my job. Planning, prepping and execution has to be precise. Sometimes I lack the planning and at other times it is in the prep work that I struggle. This week is all about getting a handle on both the plans and preparation. Wish me luck!

This look was inspired from a picture I pinned forever ago! I think it is my attempt to feel a little bit of sassiness by mixing the sexiness of the color red and leopard in pieces that I have had in my closet for awhile.

What I Wore: Minty Fresh

I am like 98% of the blogging world and LOVE mint.

I have been on the search for mint denim since the first time I saw them on a blogger way back when. I couldn't spend a lot of money on them and I wanted a true mint. Like the color of mint chocolate chip ice cream. Target has been my go to spot lately and I have to say they have been killing it! I don't know if you follow The Budget Babe but she always finds the most killer deals on trends and was posting pics of Target's Fall Preview on her Instagram. Fall looks phenomenal, the pieces are trend right and always at a great price. So when I walked in to Target to look for neon orange shorts that my good friend Jacqui from Baby Boy Bakery was wearing...I found these mint skinny's! They aren't perfect but they are a great price and fit well. I heart them.

I wanted to toughen them up a little. Pastel blue is very sweet and I am not typically a 'sweet' dresser. I fell in love with this Stylemint top (YES, another one. This was my May pick) and knew it would be great with these jeans. I am dying over the sheer side panels and sleeves. Paired with my trusty DVF wedges I had an outfit!

What I Wore: Target style...continued.

I have been so excited to wear this dress.

I love every single color in it and I feel so happy when I wear it. This was my one "designer" dress that I picked up in the relaunch. I have worn it a couple of times with tights but never took pics. I am so glad because it looks way better as a summer dress.

Since I wore it to work I had to cover my shoulders. Boo.

I made sure to sit in the sun at lunch. It was glorious.

What I Wore: a Military Genie???

I don't know about you but I base at least half of my outfits around my shoes. I just love my shoes and they inspire me.

One of the first things that I bought are THESE shoes that I blogged about in July. They are 40% off (plus my discount) at Nordy's. I got them for almost 65% off. WOOHOO. Patience paid off. Anyways...I have a pair of harem pants that I thought would look good paired with my Military jacket. I knew that the shoes would soften and dress up the more casual pieces. I LOVED the look. LOVED.

247: If I was only allowed to buy one

If I had to be on a budget,

and I didn't own a credit card (which I don't use even though I do)

I would only buy this DVF dress.

I love the components of this dress.

The dress is made of Lambskin and Ponte knit.

It is body conscious without being too slutty.

When wearing a tight, short dress you should only show one of your assests. And since the dress is short you do not want to show off your ta ta's.

I love that the dress has a very rocker feel.

Throw on some chunky, edgy jewelry and some sky high stilettos and you are set!

One hundred eighty nine: Another DVF

I am totally enamored with this dress.

I don't know if it is the neutral colors splashed with pink.

Or the 3/4 sleeves and mini combo.

Or the belt.

But I LOVE it.

I think that Kim looks great.

WHile she tends to wear the same shapes/cuts/colors I liked that she paired this with boots when she could have done her usual YSL Tribute Too's.

I am not a huge fan of boots that hit below the bottom of the knee, these look good (I would not wear them even with them being Louboutin!) You have to be careful of boots that hit on the calf...they have a widening affect!

I LOVE all of the things that she designs.

She stays true to who she is as a deigner and a style icon.

Questions for the readers...

Hi all! Once again sorry for the absence....Boo! I have been super busy and sick. I have quite a few pictures to post and hopefully some of my own outfits! Yay!

I am hoping my 8 (OK I am sure there are more but only 8 follow..Hint! Hint!) readers can help me out! I have a few random questions for you. Here goes...

1. Have you ever bought an article of clothing that didn't fit you to MOTIVATE you to lose weight so that you can wear it?

I am starting a pretty massive cleanse/diet/life change on Saturday and I want to buy the J Brand Houlihan skinny cargo's in olive. I canNOT get my butt in them now. I am hoping that if I hang them in my room and look every day at them that I will FINALLY know that nothing tastes as good as skinny feels! Haha. So any thoughts are encouraged.

2. Real vs. Knock offs. I LOVE the DVF wedges that I blogged about last month here. I just saw at work that Steve Madden did pretty much the same shoe for 200 bucks less. You all know my shoe whore tendencies and I am thinking I just buy the Steve's to save some $$$$. Am I going against all that I believe in?

Yes, I am aware that this sounds a tad bit dramatic. But I am really perplexed!

3. Am I overdoing it on all of the celeb postings?

Another reason I haven't posted much (since I challenged myself to post 365 times this year, or every day and now I don't think I will accomplish it) because I would LOVE to be more personal do more on my own outfits but I don't have the time. I feel like i am having a blogdentity crisis. HELP!!!

OK...there you have it. All my jumbled thoughts and neurosis'! Thanks for continuing to follow. Haha!

One hundred forty three: DVF

I love when a designer continues to stay relevant for decades. Diane von Furstenberg is famous for the wrap dress and her use of prints. She recently dove into the Accessory and Shoe world. My favorite sunglasses right now are from her collection.

Right now I am obsessed with this dress and pair of wedges.
