What I Wore: Seeing Red

So I did it!

I dyed my hair red. Although it totally looks brown in these pics. But in the sun...watch out ;) It is actually a glaze (semi permanent) and a shade or two darker than what I want my hair to look like. BUT past dye jobs have proven my hair doesn't hold color and fades within a week. Which is perfect because then I can start phase two of a slight ombre with really blonde tips. 

In honor of going red I wore red accents. I have yet to bust out a scarf in the heat and new that my McQueen scarf needed some love. The scarf is a PERFECT match for my Missoni jelly sandals (getting excited for Target's launch although these are the real deal). I stuck with a classic white tee to showcase the bold color. 

OH, GUESS WHAT?!?

I am starting a new job today. It literally fell into my lap and happened SO quickly. I will share the deets after the weekend. I am SO SO SO excited about the opportunity.

Fashionista Friday: Kim Kardashian II

Any person that gets a 20.5 carat engagement deserves the Fashionista Friday spot, right? RIGHT?

(For the record I think that the ring is TOO big. YES, I said it. BUT I am a sucker for any diamond in an Emerald cut. SO CLASSIC.)

It has been awhile since I have had Kim on the blog. I have been somewhat bored with her looks since they all tend to look the same. She wears some incarnation of a blazer/jeans/leggings look for the day and a short tight dress for the evening. I have been collecting pics for months and have enough versatility of things that I like.

No matter what you think of the Kardashian Klan, Kim is a gorgeous girl with great style.

I love the printed mini dress with the belt to accentuate her curves.

The nude heels make her legs look long which is great since that is the feature she chose to show off. I also like that the dress is long sleeved since it is so short.

My favorite look. I posted this outfit before, but this is actually a different day. Her hair and jewelry are different. I love when Kim wears her hair in a messy bun and I love her sunglasses. The plastic aviators look amazing on her. And I will take her Birkin.

Kim is a savvy business person and I respect how hard working she is. The girl created a brand that keeps on going.

I am a fan!



What I Wore: Weekend Wear

I sat in a car for about 6 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. I took a quick road trip to San Luis Obispo to see my sister, bro in law and nephew AND to accompany my fabulous photographer friend, Leslie, for my nephew's newborn photo shoot. It was a quick trip, tough on the kidneys (THANK the good lord for seat warmers) and seeing my family is just what I needed.

I have to confess...I wore the same jeans two days in a row.

I know. Go ahead, judge me.

I didn't pay attention to me, and only took one picture of each of my outfits. The past two days were all about Eli. I am totally ok with it. :)

Mugshot Monday {6}

Happy Monday!

I am on a leave of absence for a few weeks, so it is weird that I am not at work. Which enables me to get some work done on the condo (slowly but surely as the pain has not gone away. Boo) Getting things done means putting clothes away, throwing away old things, transferring the bills into my name and setting up cable. My cable is being hooked up today and I bought a brand new, very large TV. I have it all set up so that the cable guy can go ahead and hook up HD, DVR and the cable box.

Having cable means that...It is all about The Kennedy's tonight. Yes...a day a late, and my fingers crossed that I have the Reelz channel. I cannot wait to see the costumes that Katie Holmes wears as Jackie O. I read so many GOOD reviews on Twitter so I am anxiously awaiting 8pm.

On to Mugshot Monday.

Today's gorgeous mug is a look from Awards Season.

Mila Kunis has been acting for years but got so many accolades in her supporting role in Black Swan.

I think that she is so drop dead gorgeous.

I think that this look from the SAG awards is one of my all time favorites.

Her hair has in an incredible shine and her waves are perfect.

The make up was kept simple as she was wearing a to die for Alexander McQueen strapless red dress. I would have worn that dress as my wedding dress regardless of the color, it was that fantastic. Mila wore the most amazing dresses all Awards season long. She is beautiful.



What I Wore: Cardigan and Bow

I was super inspired when I wrote this post at the beginning of the week. And I made sure to use that inspiration while packing for my work trip. I "copied" Kim's outfit with pieces that I owned and I was very pleased with the results.

I got numerous compliments today.

Numerous meaning four.

That's a BIG deal.

To me at least :)

Two hundred thirty three: McQueen McLovin' Part one

This is one of my most favorite outfits that I have seen Hilary wear. I love Hil's style and I was excited to see a "darker" look from her. She does an amazing job of dressing up the basics. Long black muscle tank, gray cuffed skinny jeans and Chanel Maxi flap handbag with a pop of color, and a McQueen scarf. The shoes are Isabel Marant and the color is fantastic. Not quite red and not quite orange. Poppy! The happy color paired with a black and white McQueen scarf is a great combination. She lets her accessories take center stage.

I wore my new McQueen scarf on Tuesday (and I am wearing it today :/)... I am in love!

228: Magical McQueen

Since Alexander McQueen's untimely passing, his name has been on every Fashionista's lips. No one can get enough of his brilliant and unique designs. While some of his pieces may be out there, everyone can pull off the Skull scarf and the Skull and Crystal four ring statement piece.

I have had a weird obsession with skulls for about 7 years. I bought the Me & Ro skull studs forever ago. Does anyone remember those? I still love them. Nicky Hilton has this amazing black skull candle in her Chanel inspired living room. I want one just like it.

We have seen Nicole Richie, Hilary Duff (posts to come) and Ashley Olsen wearing their skull scarves. I was inspired to buy one. So today I picked up a red scarf with purple skulls. I was very tempted to buy the one pictured below BUT I wanted red. I am so excited to wear it.

I am OBSESSED with this ring. It is so hardcore. I would pair it with a very girly dress. Fun dichotomy! If I had $1700 to drop I would by the knuckle duster clutch. But this could be a fun alternative in the meantime :)

I still remember my favorite pair of jeans. Ever.

I was a senior in high school and I bought a pair of MUDD super flare jeans in a light wash blue. They were thin and looked so good on. I wore those babies out!

When I saw this pic of Ashley those jeans are the first thing that popped into my head. Now, ten years later, I have an affinity for DARK washes on any jean that I wear. But I still LOVE me a super flare pair of jeans. Skinnies, cropped, BF and boot cut all live in my closet but I will be rocking the flares all season long.

And really how COOL is this outfit?

It reminded me to bust out my McQueen scarf and pair it with my leather jacket.

If I only I can look that cool {sigh}
