What I Wore: Dots on Dots

Three days in a row of outfit posts! Yes! I am on a roll!

This outfit was ended up being more fun than I expected. I LOVED pairing the polka dots together. I feel like the scarf totally complimented the sweater since it was opposite in coloring and the dots even had shades of camel in them. I am usually drawn towards darker jeans (more slimming in my opinion) but I thought that a lighter pair made the look a little more Springy. Since everything else was so neutral I liked having a slight pop of color from the burgundy heels. I kept the jewelry simple. My hair was dirty so the bun was my only option. I HAD to wear the sunnies because I wasn't wearing make up. Haha. And I chose to put on some burgundy lipstick to tie in the shoes and "look" like I was more pulled together than I was. ;)

What I Wore: Hippy Cowgirl

I have very few reasons to actually get dressed up these days. Working from home and working out daily means that I am in my work out apparel most of the day. When I do get dressed for errands I am still reaching for my go to's... A plaid top, skinnies and booties. Super easy and always looks good, in my opinion. 

I love that this wrap plaid top is a little different from my traditional button ups. I bought it for a Country Concert last Summer. It is on the shorter side so I have to be very aware of my midriff showing while wearing it. Haha. That is a no no in my book. I love the way that my cognac fringe booties look with the tonal blue ensemble. Dirty hair means that I had to rock the side braid. Which helped show off my earrings that go with everything (I own them in 7 colors. Easy Breezy piece).

I have been in a maxi kind of mood.

I think I am rebelling against form fitting clothes since I know I should be looking to buy some things in smaller sizes. I am still not comfortable wearing form fitting outfits (plus I still have many more pounds to lose). Why should I be looking for other things when my maxi skirts and dresses are just so darn cute? ;)

I was so excited to find a decently priced denim vest that I bought it in my old size because I know I can have it tailored as I lose weight. It is such a great piece to just throw on and change the look of an outfit. I gravitate towards sleeveless pieces, especially in the Summer, due to the heat and never wanting to wear something that could possibly show sweat. This is a versatile piece that is season less. I have a feeling that it will be on the blog all Summer long. I paired it with a simple white tank and a floral skirt that I bought last year. Paired with a metallic sandal it was an easy peasy look.

What I Wore: Birthday Girl!!

It's official...

Birthday Hangover has set in. 

I have to move on and realize that I have no other excuse to "celebrate" my birthday again until next year. That just depresses me. 

BOO! HOO!

On a positive note, I celebrated my Big 3-0 with friends and family on Saturday. I have had the most incredible week and I am SO SO SO Thankful to have the most amazing people in my life. I am beyond blessed and I could not be more grateful. We had a pool party at my complex with a taco bar, rice krispie treats and brownies in lieu of cake. Unfortunately I am not Martha Stewart and my party was not at Pinterest level. Haha.

If you were wondering what I did on my actual birthday (and you don't follow me on Twitter or Instagram), I spent the evening with my BFF, her fiance and a friend. We went to Katsuya in Hollywood. The food was amazing, I found my new favorite drink "Burning Mandarin" and the ambiance was pretty fab. Definitely recommend it to anyone!

I have been in a funk.

And I cannot shop to make it better. Boo!

With so many changes I have had to readjust what is important.

And budgeting is important.

(making money is too! Now if I had my big, fancy salary still...hmph!)

So I am going to be focusing on "working my closet".

I am really putting my creativity to the test!

Today I will be focusing on some picture taking and my "Bloggers do it Better" outfit.

Along with returning a crap load of things I haven't worn (and don't need. I guess)

Last night I had the privilege of supporting Alissa and Nordstrom Fashion Island at the first 'Personalize your Style' event. It was SO MUCH fun. I will have a whole post and pics about it tomorrow! This is such an exciting event that all of you in the OC area (also LA and SD) should attend in the months to come. 

In honor of the event I HAD to bust out my Missoni for Target knit shorts. In all sincerity I hope that I still have readers after posting my outfit. I know that not everyone get their goods. This launch was an epic fail for most. They arrived yesterday afternoon and they are perfect. I am loving the Fall colors and they are thicker than I would have expected. They are going to look AWESOME with tights this Winter. So excited. I paired the shorts with a black tunic that would showcase my Kendra Scott necklace. They matched perfectly. Obsessed.

What I Wore: My Summer Uniform

I have pretty much worn the same type of outfit for the last month. If you saw me on a daily basis you would absolutely question my fashion/style credibility. I tweeted that the other day and my friends Amber and Lia were quick to assure me that I am not the only one who lives in a tee, cut offs and flip flops. This outfit is actually a tad bit dressier than the outfit just mentioned. Barely. ;)

Last Friday I got to hit up the Wildfox Couture (sassy, boho-ish casual wear) Sample Sale in downtown LA. I got some great pieces for the days that I want to look cute but still be comfy. BTW...I have noticed a thing with comfort being mentioned in almost every post. Clearly that is important to me. Haha. Anyways, I even got ssome things for my sissies. This shirt is cropped and I definitely need a tank underneath but I L-O-V-E it.

I LOVE to dress up and look girly. But let's be honest I do not want to be a glamazon every day. I seriously LOVE wearing jeans and my flip flops. Kim is dressed up in 99% of the pictures we see of her. While she always looks amazing I was kind of relieved when I saw a pic of her dressed down. She looks darling in her Kardashians by Bebe tye dye T, oversized bell bottoms, Haviana flip flops and her Dita Wanderlust sunglasses. YES, she looks incredible when she is dressed down too!

Here is to every girl who has a 'jeans and flip flops' kind of day!

Fifty Five: Dita Sunglasses

I have had a love affair with sunglasses since I was in middle school. Back then it was all about the surfer/skater brands and I got my first Roxy pair in 9th grade. I felt SO cool! Then I moved onto Flygirls (from Blackfly) and Arnette. I didn't turn to designer shades until college. That is when I was sucked into Gucci and Chanel. When I managed the accessories department I broadened my horizons and liked the brands/styles that not everyone bought. My collection is quite large and fancy. I think I have a pair of glasses from almost every designer house.

My latest obsession comes from Dita.

The Wonderlust.

It is a large oversized frame with a gradient lens.

I am buying these when I get my bonus check!

But I think the slight cat-eye is better for my oval almost round face.
