My Happy Place

There is so much going on right now. My brain is one big jumble of crazy thoughts. I have some big decisions to make. I am making sure to listen to both my head and my heart. 

When my mind feels a little cray, I either head to the gym or get my bootay to the beach. Yesterday I headed to the beach. I really needed to sit with my toes in the sand, to smell the sweet salt air and listen to the waves crash on the shore. It is my happy place. I spent two hours listening to music, and spending some alone time while watching the sun set. I still don't have the clarity I need but I felt a little soothing deep in my soul.

What I Wore: Just Playing

I heart my new camera. I got to play around with it a little bit and I am hooked! I have so much to learn which excites me. It is also going to be a little more time consuming taking my own pics as I am running back and forth trying to beat the timer and still pose. I am so happy to have a new hobby. I headed to a local park to play around with lighting and to try to get a wee bit more comfortable taking pictures of myself in public. Lucky readers, you get to be the witness as I learn all about lighting and while I practice, practice, practice!

I know what you are probably thinking with this outfit. 
Camo Again? Yes. 
Super casual? Yes. 
Basic and dare I say it, boring? Probably.
Not Blog worthy? Probably Not.
But in my defense, I just love camo, I don't have anything to really dress up for and I liked the outfit. I really think that camo is neutral and looks great combined with neon. Plus, I was running around a park and comfort was key. I am sure fancier outfits will be back soon but for today, casual comfort, it is!

I am so happy it is Friday.
Not that this has been a tough week or anything like that. 
Just super happy for the weekend.

I want to THANK you all for reading and commenting on all the amazing Guest Posts! I am so grateful that I have had this time to ease back into blogging so that I come back fresh and excited!

I am glad that I have a new outfit to share with you all today. It is safe to say that my love for plaid will not die. I love a comfy flannel top in the Fall/Winter and this one is my newest addition. I just LOVE orange and royal blue together. I wore this outfit on a day date to the shooting range the other day! Have any of you ever done that? I know that guns are controversial but I really love shooting them. I feel like such a bad ass. Haha. Anyways, since it is an indoor sport and definitely casual I knew that dressing down was appropriate. Flannel, jeans and closed toed shoes were perfect. Since my TOMS are sparkly I felt that I brought some girliness to the look.

Currently Lusting After...

I browse the Internet frequently. When you are on the computer as much as I am it is hard not to fall in love with something new every day. I have started pinning my favorite things so that I can either save up to buy the piece or look back at it in a couple of weeks and decide if I still love it. Here are the items that I am currently lusting after...

 One - Two - Three - Four - Five - Six - Seven - Eight

This is what I have determined from my current list:

1. I am still OBSESSED with aztec/southwestern/ikat prints. Whether it be in a sweater, bahing suit, necklace or shoe, I want it all! I love that each piece is a statement in itself.

2. Stand Out Pieces: I love having ONE piece that pulls the entire look together. I think all three blazers do that AND they all have a different cut. I love that I can dress with a slight edge with the snake print, or All American/Nautical with the striped blazer or Feminine in the pastel, coral blazer. Let's talk about the Peplum Tee... I love the twist on a basic and could see myself wearing it with everything. It is simple yet different. Great piece!

3. My love for Accessories will NEVER D-I-E!! The other day I was called a 'Sunglasses Slut' by my male coworker. And he couldn't be more right! I am always trying to find a new pair. I love the sides on this House of Harlow  pair. We all love a good arm party and adding a Bow Bangle would be a fun and feminine touch. That chain ring is amazing...tough and pretty. 

What I Wore: Keeping it Casual

I was about to say 'Happy Monday' then realized my weekend was a little more action packed than anticipated and I totally skipped my Monday post. I had a very FUN weekend and totally crashed when I got home on Sunday. Then Aunt Flow showed up yesterday morning (TMI??? Sorry!) and didn't start the week off as planned. Feeling kind of out of it I opted for super comfy. I am SO GRATEFUL for a boss who lets me wear whatever to work. I can dress up or down, and that kind of freedom is priceless. He even let me leave a little early when my cramps made me crossed eyed and puke. Does that ever happen to you? ANYWAYS, I was more than happy to bust out my new Wildfox jumper and throw on my sparkly TOMS. On days like yesterday there is nothing better.

While this outfit is nothing special (ignore my messy 'do and lack of accessories) I still love it. The Wildfox jumper is near and dear to my heart because I can show love for my home state (West really is best) and my passion for NYC. When I saw the sweatshirt I couldn't leave without it! It does nothing for my figure but makes my soul feel good :)

I don't know about you but I L-O-V-E Mexican Food.

Luckily living in So Cal I don't have to look far for some authentic goodness. I have lived outside of CA and nothing compares. Nothing. So when I was invited to help make Christmas Tamales with my friend Lauren and her family I JUMPED at the chance. I mean what could be more fun? Celebrating the holiday, spending time with friends and good food (and plenty to drink) was exactly the kind of activity I needed. I was posting Instagram pics throughout the day and Miss Kristen asked how I managed to look fashionable while cooking. I can tell you that my first thought was to throw on my comfies and that fashion was far from my mind. I wanted to wear red for the Holidays and I knew that pics would be involved because Lauren is a total photog! Then I threw on an awesome floral apron and CHIC would be the one word to describe my outfit. HAHA.

What I Wore: Holiday Weekend

Happy Monday lovelies!

I am spending the day at work...and you know what???

I am not sad at all because I LOVE what I am doing right now.

It feels so awesome to say that. It also helps that I have had the past five days off as well. Haha. But really, I love my job.

We were supposed to go away for the weekend but that didn't end up happening and I was MORE than bummed about that. I actually had a pity party for myself on Friday night. I have a love/hate relationship being alone. I love it when I WANT to be alone (which is actually quite often, I am extremely independent) but I hate it when I want to be with friends and I am not invited to do anything. Boo. Apparently I am having a small Pity Party again. Lol. Anyways I got to spend some time with the BF just watching movies and eating. That was needed and loooonnnnggggg overdue (he travels all week for work and I have had plans on the weekend so we haven't seen each other more than one night a week for the last month, if that!) So gone or not the weekend was a success. Although a weekend away at a nice hotel is needed. Next month :)

 P.S. I cannot believe I own Toms. I don't think that they are that cute. I did it for the kids. AND because they are so comfy. Plus they sparkle. I love Glitter. Yup.

P.P.S. My hair is FINALLY fading and getting redder. It is still to dark for what I want but I know that can be fixed!
