What I Wore: Pop Color and Snake

Happy Monday err, I mean, Tuesday!
I want to make sure and send my prayers and condolences to the City of Boston and the victims of yesterday's tragedy. It broke my heart to know that our country has another tragedy to overcome and to know that so many people are hurting!

I have NOT been in a blogging mood at all. No real reason why. I think my focus has been on work and my fitness. It is consuming me! Hopefully I will get some mojo back! I have been pinning for some inspiration and I have some cute outfits planned. Thanks for sticking with me through yet, another, dry spell!

I wore this outfit for date night. It is pretty simple. Silk blouse, skinny jeans and snake-print stilettos. I accented with gold accessories. I love the orange with the neutral print. I like how the look pulled together. Plus I felt sexy!
Win win, in my book.

What I Wore: Having a Blue Moment

Alright friends, are you ready for some randomness? All of the things I want to share with you have nothing to do with the other. Ha! First thing is that I am getting my hair done today. I have no clue what I will end up doing once I am in the chair but I have been stalking my Pinterest board for inspiration. Yesterday I picked up the new Liquid Sand nail polish by OPI and I am kind of obsessed. It looks REALLY cool on. I want it to be known that I think I am turning into a couch potato! There are so many good shows on and I cannot stop watching. Lastly, I had a great Girl's Night Out with two friends I have known since elementary school on Tuesday and then yesterday an old friend sent me an email after reading my Coffee Date post and reconnected with me. Those two interactions really reminded me how blessed I am to be surrounded by such amazing people. Don't let me forget it. :)

I have become a bargain shopper. I picked up these pants for ten bucks. I love the mini polka dots on them (that is really hard to see in these pics but can be seen better HERE). I grabbed my chambray top that is so versatile and worn in in all of the right places that just so happened to match the polka dots really well. Since I HATE being super matchy matchy I thought I would mix prints. I swear that leopard goes with everything. I picked up these wedges for $17 and they are super comfy. I really like how the look came together. Although I think the outfit looks better in my Instagram pic. Haha.

P.S. Are we following each other on Instagram yet? Find me (@FashionistaMMC), follow and let me know who you are so I can follow back! IG is my favorite way to connect these days!

What I Wore: Day to Date

It has been quite a week.
Starting with my weekend away, then the Election, a heavy work load, new hair and a fun work event I have been going non stop. I realized today after really examining my day planner that this week was the kick off to an extremely jam packed Holiday Season. This weekend I have a couple of fun things planned, but for the most part will be mellow. I have to mentally prepare for the madness that will be my life for the next six weeks.

Holiday Season always starts out with my middle sister's birthday. She is the big 2-8 today. I am so thankful that she has taught me so much the last couple of years. Yes, she is younger but her life experience has been so opposite of mine and I have learned a lot.
HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISSY!
I hope that you have a very blessed day and an incredibly blessed year. I am so excited to celebrate with you next week!

Since I have been on the go I have had to dress for many occasions. This outfit is something that takes me from the office or meetings, a coffee meet up, running errands and then a dinner date. The pieces are all simple but look polished when paired together. You can never go wrong with dark denim and a chambray piece.

What I Wore: Dinner Date

How many of you have an outfit that just makes you feel good? You put it on and you have that extra pep in your step. Sometimes it is hard to describe why certain pieces make us feel so much better about ourselves (well for me it is hard to describe at times). This outfit has been my "go to" date look all Summer long. It is just a simple silk blouse, printed linen shorts and wedges but it still feels dressier and special. I used to always wear black and I love how fresh the cream looks, especially when I am tan.

I wore this on a date last night. Yes, it is still warm enough to wear shorts. Yes, I am going to milk the Summer weather as long as possible. Haha. I hadn't worn this outfit for a couple months and realized that I am going to have to retire it. Sadly it is too big on me now and my shorts were falling off of me after an hour of wear (which is good for my weight loss). Constantly pulling up and holding your shorts while walking is definitely awkward in front of your date!

So tell me, do you have a go to "date night" look?

What I Wore: My Go To's

Happy Hump day!!

I have been quite M.I.A. in the Blogosphere and I don't think I am going to have much time in the next few weeks to tweet or comment on your blogs. It is taking everything in me to get regular posts up. So I apologize that I haven't been visiting and commenting. I notice that it definitely makes a difference on you coming to visit me (which is hard). So I hope you will continue to stop in from time to time as I focus on my weight loss goal and living it up the last few weeks of my twenties!

This outfit has instantly become a favorite. It is so easy to wear and it looks chic. These pants and my worn in chambray button up are like pajamas. It is starting to warm up and my toes are so happy. I love being able to bust out my open toed shoes. These LC Lauren Conrad sandals from her first release of her shoe collection were a huge staple for me last Summer. I love how they made my look a little more Springy. Simple jewelry and over-sized shades were the finishing touches.

What I Wore: Tangerine

Winter decided to make an appearance over the weekend. It tried to damper our celebration but it didn't.  I always have the hardest time deciding what to wear when it rains becasue I want to be cozy, I want to stay dry and I am not a big layers person. I planned out outfits (and wore them obviously) but didn't really have an opportunity to photograph them. Monday morning the sun was out but it was still on the chillier side. So I made sure to wear my favorite sweater, although it is looking a bit too big these days.

I am a huge fan of orange and I was very excited that Tangerine is Pantone's color of the season. While my top and shoes are a shade or two darker than the "it" color I feel good in it. I picked up the color-block Shoemint "Hattie's" after being on the wait list. I was fortunate to get them because they were sold out again in about ten minutes. I have had this blouse in my closet and it got a lot of wear last year. I love being able to pair my nicer blouses with jeans and flats. Now that my jeans are getting loose I am hating the way they look on me. I think the pants being looser make my legs look bigger. But I am just being picky! cannot wait to buy pants in smaller sizes soon! I kept my jewelry to a minimum. Statement earrings and a large cocktail ring was just enough. I think that even though my sweater was a little large (and over powering?) the color was the perfect compliment to the orange and dark denim. Clearly I am loving neutrals and brights...my manicure is very similar to this outfit and I am LOVING it.

I'll be seeing you! ... I hope not sporadically!

Whoa...that was a totally long and unintentional break.
I didn't mean to stay away so long. I miss my blogging buddies. I was watching 'Clueless' the other night (hence the blog post title) and that movie made me so relaxed. Watching it reminds me that my love of Fashion has been ingrained in me since I was a little girl. No matter how busy I am I know that I have to make time for my passion. I was going to say that I have had a lot going on BUT I think that being insanely busy has become my reality. And by reading all of your tweets and blog posts I know that I am not alone. As busy as I am the one thing that I cannot deny is that I am incredibly happy. That is always a good thing.

This outfit was worn over the weekend to the Kendra Scott personal appearance at Nordstrom Fashion Island. I was there to support my old store and my new team. It was a fabulous event! I loved seeing my old world and new worlds collide. Spending time with my new team was awesome. I feel si incredibly lucky to be working for Kendra and with some amazing women. How and why this all happened to me just blows my mind!
I am in love with these red jeans. I am itching to pick up the cobalt pair in 6 days when my shopping ban has been lifted. I have stayed strong. I did buy a new bra but that was a necessity. I wanted to wear my Zara shoes because I am obsessed with them. Pairing the pants and shoes with a simple silk blouse was just what the outfit needed. Do you think I should buy the blue pair??

***Ying and Leah I will be sending your KS earrings out today or tomorrow! Sorry for the wait***

What I Wore: Minnetonka's

It has been in the 60's in LA all week.
It kind of got me excited for Fall. Yes, I am admitting it.

After posting my Travel Tuesday post I knew that I had to break out my Minnetonka's this week. I have been DYING to wear them. These shoes are so comfy. I could not stop staring at my feet while I was walking around (which can actually be kind of dangerous. Haha) because the fringe flying around is awesome! I have a feeling that I am always going to want to wear them when I wear leggings. I also have to point out how AWESOME Chambray shirts are. They really do go with everything. Dressed up or down.

The Look I emulated...

IF I had a chance to rock these Isabel Marant Fringe Boots I would!
I love how over the top they are!

What I Wore: Pants are back!

Hey Look! It is dark out. Boo!
Along with Sunday's I'd like to buy some more Summer light as well! I get utterly depressed when it is dark by 7pm. Imagine how depressed I am when it gets dark at 5pm??
VERY!
Light or Dark, I HAVE missed my BF jeans!
And they made their seasonal debut. Paired with sandals and a silk blouse, it is PERFECT for work. I love that these BF jeans are on the skinnier side as that is the trend for BF jeans this Fall. Over all this is a simple outfit. I really LOVED my jewelry. I am obsessed with my work jewelry and this necklace and earrings are HIGH on my list of favorites! It is AMAZING to work with product that I lovity love!

P.S. What do you think about my hair color?
I go in next week and I am not loving it right now.

BF jeans debut!
