Blogger's Do It Better: RED!

Happy Valentine's Day my lovelies!!

To be honest the day kind of snuck up on me. I just realized that I will be spending my first Valentine's Day alone in six years. I am a sappy romantic and I enjoy this Hallmark Holiday :) I decided to pamper myself. I have an intense work out planned, lunch with one of my besties and a massage booked. I think Valentine's Day will treat me just fine :)
(although having a hot date may have been just a smidge better)

I was excited to see that red was the choice for this month's "Bloggers DO it Better" post. While red isn't a color that I own a lot of (three plaid shirts, one sweater and two scarves is all I own. Kind of shocking and a little sad.) I knew that I could make something work. I tried on the few items I own and settled on one of my flannels. It actually has been chilly (in the high fifties) and I knew pairing the shirt with leggings and heeled boots would be perfect. I LOVE the color combination of red and turquoise so I had to dress up my flannel with a statement necklace and earrings. Since my shirt is over sized (from the men's department) I wanted to belt it. My braided skinny belt is going to get a lot more play these days. I love how the look came together.

RED!

What I Wore:

Top: Cherokee (Target Men's Department)
Leggings: Zella 'Live In' from Nordy's
Boots: Jessica Simpson (old)
Belt: H&M
Jewelry: Kendra Scott 'Harlow' necklace and 'Danielle' earrings

Bloggers Do it Better: Sequins

It has been a few months since I have participated in a Bloggers Do It Better challenge. I was really excited to see that this month is all about sequins! I was originally going to post a fancy, dressy outfit. But then I realized that I wanted to find a way to wear my sequin skirt in a more casual ensemble. This look is different for me. It is kind of sloppy, a little skaterish and pretty comfy! The only thing that I would complain about is that this outfit does NOTHING for my shape. I am working so hard to lose weight and this look doesn't showcase my hard work. I also have NEVER done an outfit post with sneakers on. I like that my look isn't polished. It reflects who I am at this moment. I love how clothes can be used to tell a story, envoke a feeling and represent the true "you".

Do you like wearing sequins more casually?
Will you find a way to wear them in your every day life or save them for special occasions?

SEQUINS!!

Bloggers Do It Better: Animalistic

It is that time again!
AND this time around I get to wear my favorite prints (trend or no trend).
The hardest part of the challenge was picking out what to wear.
Since I was SO indecisive I have two outfits. Yes, two. Call me crazy but I was able to pull a casual and more dressy look together. The BEST part of these pics are that my day outfit was taken at night and my night outfit was taken during the day. Talk about issues...only I would notice it! LOL. Another thing that I did to keep continuity was to wear the same shoes and necklace since I tend to base my outfits on what accessories I will be wearing. Plus, I cannot get enough of these shoes. I still dream of these YSL's but these are a little more practical while still being HOT!

My casual looks are usually based around jeans and a cardigan in the "cooler weather". I love how my pants really show off the shoes. I was comfortable and felt stylish in the basics, which is what I strive to do.

Casual Animalistic

Old Navy Cardigan, Hue Jeggings, BP camisole, Kendra Scott necklace

I don't get "dressed up" that often. When I do I tend to focus more on my hair and make up. So I pulled my hair up and put on some blackberry lipstick. Paired with my high waisted shorts and a fur coat I think I look sassy!

Dressy (er) Animalistic

HInge Fur Coat, Marc by Marc Jacobs shorts, Tarnish tunic, Kendra Scott Necklace

No outfit would be complete without amazing shoes and clutch

Aldo wedges and an Abas clutch

I am linking up with Pretty, Shiny, Sparkly and the Bloggers Do it Better clan along with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday.
I am also linking up with Real Girl Glam on Friday

SO MANY LINK UP'S...But SO FUN!

Bloggers DO it BETTER: Arm Candy

Bracelets are the best.
They bring any outfit from Blah to Viola!
Plus, 98% of the time they fit, no matter what you ate ;)

I am super excited to participate in Bloggers Do it Better. Again. I bet some people are going to BLOW me away with their creativity! I decided to pull together a compiliation of my "Arm Party" from outfits that were worn over the last several months! I wanted to run out a buy a few new sets of bangles and fun pieces but I quickly reminded myself to stop "wanting" and focus on what I already have! I think I have some amazing pieces that are "me" and that I wear them well. After seeing all of these outfits again I am inspired to 'remix' my wardrobe a little more often.

Bloggers DO it BETTER: Maxi Skirts

I am so happy!
Everything turned out EXACTLY how I planned it to for my Bloggers Do it Better outfit! I could not have been MORE excited for Maxi Skirts. I am enamored with the look. I have worn maxi skirts in a few posts and they were all pretty casual. I wanted to create a dressier look for this challenge.

I saw this skirt while shopping with and for my boyfriend last weekend. He loved it. I loved it. But I didn't buy it. Obviously, I went back. I just couldn't get it out of my mind. I loved the seventies feel of the skirt and knew that a lot of gold jewelry would help play up that trend. I also never wear lipstick and thought that a bold lip would complement the outfit. I threw on a simple tube top and a belt to accentuate my waste. My favorite Jessica Simpson platforms were the icing on the cake. Seventies Glam...I own you ;)

(sorry for the pic overload. I am working on my confidence of shooting in public places)

What I Wore:
Top: Forever 21 (7 years old. oops!)
Shoes: Jessica Simpson 'Dany' (no longer available)
Belt: BP from Nordy's (about 7 years old too!)
Jewelry: Watch- Micheal Kors, Bracelets- Towne and Reese, Jewelmint, Necklace- House of Harlow 1960, Rings- Jewelmint, Earrings- Kendra Scott
