Last night I had the privilege of supporting Alissa and Nordstrom Fashion Island at the first 'Personalize your Style' event. It was SO MUCH fun. I will have a whole post and pics about it tomorrow! This is such an exciting event that all of you in the OC area (also LA and SD) should attend in the months to come. 

In honor of the event I HAD to bust out my Missoni for Target knit shorts. In all sincerity I hope that I still have readers after posting my outfit. I know that not everyone get their goods. This launch was an epic fail for most. They arrived yesterday afternoon and they are perfect. I am loving the Fall colors and they are thicker than I would have expected. They are going to look AWESOME with tights this Winter. So excited. I paired the shorts with a black tunic that would showcase my Kendra Scott necklace. They matched perfectly. Obsessed.

What I Wore: Layers

It is hard not to see all of the incredible Fall merchandise and not feel the tiniest twinge for cooler weather. When I say tiny...I mean it. I REALLY love Summer. It has been pretty tame this year and I cannot get over how beautiful it has been. Makes me so so so happy!

When I think of Fall the first thing that comes to mind is layers. Light coats, cute cardigans and busting out the boots. I don't know about you but there are some bloggers who are incredible at layering. You know who I am talking about... Blair, Taylor and Helena. 

Two of the three live in the San Francisco area which helps them with not sweating as much, it is a lot cooler in Nor Cal ;)

I look at their outfits and think three things:

1. How are they not sweating?

2. How do they still look so slender?

3. Why can I NOT pull these looks off?

I know I could attempt these outfits and probably pull them off if I truly tried. I just don't think that I have the body type to (that could change) and I am a sweater. So this is my attempt at layering in the Summer. Taking a drapey (reversible) vest and pairing it with a strapless romper. The perfect marriage of Summer and Winter!

Belt: No idea, no name. Bought 2 years ago because it was similar to Carrie's in the SATC movie. Haha.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: My picks

I have and always will be a Nordy's girl!

I love the tradition, the history and the customer service.

Even though I am no longer a part of that family I still love them all with my whole heart!

Being the FABULOUS customer that I am, I shopped my little heart out. I am excited to show you all what I bought on my two Early Access trips (you can be an Early Access shopper if you have a Nordstrom Credit Card OR their MOD card which is linked to your checking account and works like a debit card). I posted a about my love for leopard earlier today (and like 500 other times in the last year) and I ended up adding 4 new leopard items to my collection. I also stocked up on the basics (Duh!) and bought some baubles to complete my looks!

Winter 30 for 30 remix: Outfit 13 of 30

Looky, looky...I got a new camera.

I know it was just a battery that didn't work BUT that stinking battery cost 63 dollars. I got a camera for $100. I consider it a deal BECAUSE my camera was from 2005, when I graduated college.

SO I have an updated Canon Elph. I hopefully will get a new fancy camera in a couple months.

I was pressed for time so I used the pictures from my quick self session without much playing around!

I LOVE that Kendi posted some tips today because this is getting hard. I picked so many basics that it is hard to layer and create interesting outfits. Plain Jane. I am going to dig in and read some of my other fellow re-mixers blogs for inspiration.

Can I get a Woot! Woot?!

You are getting a combined post since I am going to try to catch up on my outfit posts.

Sunday is dedicated to chores (and blogging!) so that I can be equal with the rest of my remixers.

You saw a couple of days ago the F21 shoes that traded for the Miu Miu's. I started a new position the week that the remix started and I am on my feet A LOT more than I was in my previous role. I had to switch out two pairs of shoes that I could not STAND in all day. It was a necessity. You will see the second pair on this post. They were actually a pair that I ordered on my last day of shopping that I knew I would swap the Jessica Simpson 'Dany' for. I needed another pair of flats to make it through my workday. So that is why you will see "more" shoes than allotted.

Speaking of shoes. I miss mine. I really, really do.

That was my pity party, now onto the outfits.

I was manager in charge of the store and I like to look very professional when taking on that task.

People always focus on my age and how young I look (their words, not mine) so I do what I can to prove my professionalism.

Notice that I wore my hair straight! I have to point it out because I hardly ever do! I am just trying out different looks with my new glasses (that I love).

Nothing cures a bad hair day like a comfy, slouchy beanie.

BUT you don't have to be having a bad hair day to wear one.

These beanies add to an outfit and gives you a boho feel to what you have one.

You can wear your hair up, down, curly or straight and the hat looks good.

I love how Kourtney's hair looks polished but her hat completes the look. And Mason is the cutest! I love his animal hat.

224: Caped Crusader

Capelets are so chic yet very hard to wear!

Every year I try to find some kind of capelet, poncho etc. etc. and leave disappointed because I look huge, bulky, it hits in all the wrong places or it looks like a blanket. So when I saw this Capelet at Nordstrom I was very apprehensive! But this piece is not super bulky, it hits at "my" natural waist and didn't make me look like shamu. I love the color and I think that this would update any leggings and boots combination.

What do you think of this look?

Two hundred: Tarnish V-neck Sweater

My favorite thing about Fall and the chill in the air is wearing lightweight tunics with leggings and boots.

This tunic is PERFECT for that.

I love the flowiness of the body. It is a piece that you can wear alone or that you can belt up for a completely different look.

I CANNOT wait for Fall and in a very small way, Winter.

I saw this hat in Nordstrom and I fell in love.

I can imagine wearing this on my trips to snowy Colorado and Utah. I would pair it with my high waisted black pants and button up. Throw on a pea coat and I can just imagine the sophistication. I will be buying this hat next week.
