Tuesday Travel Style {42}

It has been ONE year since I stopped traveling for work. This week, one year ago, I was sitting on a plane without a thought in my head that it would be the last time that I would commute to work by plane. I ENJOYED my job but the traveling and stress did me in. My body couldn't handle it anymore. This series started because of all of the outfits that I would see in the airports. I wanted to continue to be inspired, I wanted to look chic and I wanted to share it all with you. 

This week's travelista is Nicky Hilton. She wore this outfit about a month and a half again at LAX. I am a HUGE fan of black, an edgier or tougher look and Nicky definitely works it. I love how this look has that edge but also a touch of whimsy and femininity.

This look is PERFECT for travel. It looks comfy and chic, while being pieces that make it easy to move about the plane and that are easy too remove while going through security. I am totally DIGGING the sweater and I am NOT a heart/flowers/ruffles girl at all. I think it looks great with a simple classics like a tee and leggings. The pop of red is gorgeous and makes you stand out! I love how she paired it with red ballet flats to compliment the heart detail. Her hair looks great in a side braid. The Ray Ban wayfarers give the look a slight rock and roll edge. Her handbags are incredible and the perfect size to carry on. Nicky is quite the traveler and she "gets" it.

Tuesday Travel Style {39}

It has been a few weeks since I have done a travel post. I am excited to have two completely different looks to show you. These sisters have a style all their own and I think that this pic speaks to their looks perfectly.

I am a huge fan of both looks. The girls show us that you can be Glam or Casual and still look amazing. Both outfits are comfy and easy to wear. When traveling you generally have to wear your hat on the plane. Some hats are hard to pack and will lose their shape/form. Easy pieces like a looser jumpsuit or leggings are perfect for traveling. You will be able to move and breath, especially on longer flights. Both girls have the perfect sized bags to carry on. They don't sacrifice personal style while traveling!


P.S. I need a new pair of Chucks.

It is almost the weekend. Woot! Woot!

In college, Thursday's meant that it was the weekend. I think I still have that mentality ;)

If you ask me what my favorite color is, I always say Purple...

...AND Leopard.

Leopard is totally a color. It is always the first print that I am drawn too. I just can't get enough.

Nicky always looks amazing and this outfit is such a great, casual yet stylish option.

Her PS1 handbag is awesome in the all black. I love tonal hardware. It is such noticeable detail.

The sweater is a great military inspired look.

And her booties are to die for!

I am sure it is getting quite redundant that I keep posting about Leopard print. But I still love it. And clearly many others do too!

I love the McQueen scarf.

I think that her boots and jacket are so tough looking.

Her Proenza bag is awesome, black out sunnies are pure rock and I have been DIGGING gray leggings lately.

228: Magical McQueen

Since Alexander McQueen's untimely passing, his name has been on every Fashionista's lips. No one can get enough of his brilliant and unique designs. While some of his pieces may be out there, everyone can pull off the Skull scarf and the Skull and Crystal four ring statement piece.

I have had a weird obsession with skulls for about 7 years. I bought the Me & Ro skull studs forever ago. Does anyone remember those? I still love them. Nicky Hilton has this amazing black skull candle in her Chanel inspired living room. I want one just like it.

We have seen Nicole Richie, Hilary Duff (posts to come) and Ashley Olsen wearing their skull scarves. I was inspired to buy one. So today I picked up a red scarf with purple skulls. I was very tempted to buy the one pictured below BUT I wanted red. I am so excited to wear it.

I am OBSESSED with this ring. It is so hardcore. I would pair it with a very girly dress. Fun dichotomy! If I had $1700 to drop I would by the knuckle duster clutch. But this could be a fun alternative in the meantime :)

Nicky Hilton is wearing a Alice and Olivia sequin skirt that I am dying to own.

The leather jacket with a drapey color is exactly the jacket that I have been looking for.

And the bag?!?!? I posted a few days ago that I am OBSESSED.

217: Purple PS1

I have been enamored with the Proenza Schouler PS1 handbag for quite some time. BUT it wasn't until I saw this pic of Nicky carrying it in a deep lilac that I fell head over heels in L-O-V-E! It is the perfect mix of Utilitarian chic, masculine and feminine and amazing color. This bag can be worn as a top handle as shown above or as a crossbody. I think that it looks fab dressed up but looks just as amazing with jeans. Phenomenal.

177: Rocker chic

Nicky looks incredible. This is one of the best outfits that I have seen her wear.

The jeans are to die for. I love the black, destructed look. I am not positive but I believe that the jeans are JET by John Eshaya. Paired with a black tee and leather motorcycle jacket she looks very rocker. She is wearing the Louis Vuitton Leopard print scarf and I know we will be seeing a ton of celebs wearing it all Fall season. Animal print is HUGE for fall.

Eighty Five: Black and White

Nicky Hilton has a living room and bedroom to die for! In March 2008 Nicky had her home in Instyle and I had to do my best to copy what I could since I had just moved to Seattle. To this day I would copy her entire home if I could. I love the contempory feel and she has incredible pieces in her home.

Boho Chic

Fashion is all about letting YOUR personality shine through creating personal style. Living in Southern California I am constantly torn on how to let my style show on my days off from work when I want to be comfy and casual. I think that dressing "Boho" is a great way to capture the fashionista spirit and still be comfortable.

My interpretation of how to wear Boho chic includes the following items:

• Knit hats
• Flowy maxi dresses
• Flowy shirts
• Floral or paisley prints
• Long scarves
• High waisted jeans
• Ripped Bell Bottoms
• Brown/Tan/Luggage booties
• Fringe
• Vests
• Ponchos or Ruanas
• Seventies frames in gold or rose gold and brown gradient lenses
• Big Hoop earrings
• Layers and layers of bangles
• Long beaded "rosary" looking necklaces
• Long, wavy "beach" hair

Kim boho'd up a rather conservative outfit. The hat and scarf give her blazer a whole new look.

Nicky's Hat and booties also Boho up a quite classic ensemble. I love that she is carrying a Birkin bag!

Nicole is one of three women who define Boho Chic (Kate Hudson and Vanessa Hudgeons are the other two). Nicole's personal style is ecclectic and fun. I love her hat, ruana and fringe booties.

Vanessa is wearing accesories that dress up a jeans and tee ensemble. Her booties and hair style tie her look together.

Hello Seventies! Rachel Zoe...head to toe Boho.

And then there is me...

I LOVE my knit cap for lazy days. I don't have to do my hair. And big earrings and glasses keep me from looking like a boy!
