What I Wore: Ruffled Shorts

Hey! Hi! Remember me?!?
I am averaging about one post a month, awesome! Does that still make me a blogger? I can say that life is crazy busy but that is nothing new. I will say that I wear pajamas and work out clothes waaayyyyy more often than I would like to admit. That kind of makes style blogging hard. I have also been working and planning behind the scenes on how/where I want this blog to go and what that actually looks like. So while I may not be super present here, this blog is not far from my thoughts! I think that some great things will happen here. SOON!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!! I LOVE you more than words can say!
(had to throw that in)

You all {should} know that I am a not the girliest dresser ever. I tend to mix my casual and dressier pieces together, a lot. I loved pairing my neon sweatshirt with these ruffled shorts (I love these shorts but paired with the wrong top can totally look like something my 1 year old niece would wear). I added some glitz with the necklace and wore neutral wedges to make my legs look LONG! I love how this look came together. It is perfect for the California nights as Summer turns to Fall.

What I Wore: Orange you glad?

Happy Monday!

I cannot keep up with how quickly time is passing. My niece turns One today and we celebrated her birthday last Sunday. This year flew by. She is such a precious baby girl and I love her so much!

I feel so blessed that I get to be an Auntie to these precious babes!

I mentioned that one of my best friend's was getting married in Nor Cal. Since my parents live on the Central Coast I drove up to stay with them for a night on the way to the wedding. Then the party was on Sunday so I was able to attend and stay the night before heading home on Monday. I am so glad it all worked out for me to be a part of so many loved ones special days!

I wore this outfit on the drive up to see my family. I knew I would be getting there and that we would be headed straight to dinner so I wanted to be comfortable yet cute. This skirt is stretchy so it was easy to throw on. Due to it being on the shorter, tighter side AND that it was so bright I wanted to pair it with something looser on top. My chambray was the perfect top to keep the look a little more casual while complementing the color. I threw on my go to sandals in leopard to give some texture and a random pop. I like how it all came together!

What I Wore:

Top: Gap, no longer online (Similar, Try this Men's version from Target)

What I Wore and a WINNER!!!

Hey friends!

I hate coming here and apologizing for being MIA and telling you how busy I am but that is all I have to say! I am trying to balance my work load, fitness and personal life and it is H-A-R-D. I promise I will make more of an effort to post more consistently!

I also picked a winner for the Kiki La'Rue Giveaway.
Drum roll.....dun, dun, dun, dun

a HUGE Congrats to:
AMY BEACH

I will be emailing you over the weekend!

This outfit was inspired by a picture of Sophia Bush that I pinned on Pinterest. I LOVE these Gap pants but have felt limited in what I could wear them with due to the blue of the pants, they are so dark and don't look like denim. I am weird about pairing colors with certain blues. After seeing Sophia pair her polka dot pants with a gray sweatshirt and heels I knew I could pull off that look. Since it is warm I found a lightweight sweatshirt with short sleeves and had my outfit. I paired it with my Zara heels and complementary jewelry pieces. Love how it came together. Don't mind my cray cray hair... this is how it ends up every day now that I am working in the store. Lol. I am taking messy bun to a new level ;)

What I Wore: Dressy Shorts

I am a pin-a-holic. I have talked about it before and I think that most of you are as well. If you aren't, you should be. Ha! While for the most part I have an intense L-O-V-E for Pinterest, it does have some downfalls in my eyes. More on that next week. BUT when I pinned these shorts a year ago I didn't think that I would actually end up buying them. But I did. After seeing them on Heather and Amber via Instagram, my happy butt headed to my local TJ Maxx (still not a fan btw). I found them, they fit, they were in a beautiful color and they were cheap. All wins in my book.

I wore this outfit to my friend's 30th Birthday party. It was perfect for the weather, I went from wine and apps to outdoor patio and dancing in a "club". Since the shorts are fancier I dressed them down with a basic tank and denim jacket. Added leopard wedges for some texture and contrast. Simple jewelry and over-sized sunnies completed the look.

Dressy Shorts
To be honest, I HATE the way these pics turned out but didn't have time to re-shoot. Oh well, that's real life folks!

What I Wore:

Denim Jacket: Gap, old (similar)
Tank: Mossimo, old (similar)
Shorts: Free People (still online here)
Sunnies: DVF
Necklace: Stella and Dot 'Rebel Pendant' (I wear it with everything)

What I Wore: Summer Uniform #1

I really don't understand how the days pass so quickly! They are flying by. It is a bit crazy but totally fun! My weekend consisted of a concert on Friday night, a 30th birthday for a dear friend on Saturday and then spending time with a friend in from out of town on Sunday. Weekends like this remind me how blessed I am to be surrounded by such incredible people.

During the Summer I tend to wear a variation of two different "uniforms". The first one is a dress, usually a maxi, with a hat and flat sandals. This dress from Kiki La' Rue is perfect. It fits well, has pockets and comes in a variety of color combos. This combo happens to be my favorite.  Peach and mint are two colors that look great with my coloring AND emphasize an incredible tan (not that I have one yet)! I paired it with a Panama hat, which is one of the best purchases I have made. Bad hair days be gone! I am obsessed with my nude flip flops. They are perfect and go with everything. All three of the pieces are bound to be worn out by the end of the Summer.

What I Wore:

Panama Hat: Nordstrom, old (Best Option)
Sandals: Gap
Earrings: Kate Spade
Necklace: Stella and Dot

Don't adjust your computer screens, my outfit really is this bright. Not only is it bright but I have a whole lot going on. I like to call this an explosion. Haha.

Let me list all of the trends I am wearing...

Mirrored Sunnies
Camo Print
Boho Braids
Sweatshirt with Shorts
Bright Blue Nails
Gold Jeweled Accents

It's a lot BUUTTTTT I think it works. Obviously since I wore it, photographed it and blogged it. I know this look is not for everyone. So what do you think?

What I Wore: Camo and Neutrals

I cannot focus on all that I have going on this week because I will be at Stagecoach in TWO days! I am so excited I can barely stand it! I have planned my outfits and have been working out like crazy! I cannot wait to just be by the pool! And listen to music. Obvi!

Since I have been running around like a crazy person I am sticking to the staples. It has still been warm during the day but it definitely cools down at night. I haphazardly threw this jacket on while running out the door. It was a subtle way to mix prints and the wedges still kept the look more girly, and showed off my legs! Hehe. I love the mix of the neutral stripes and the camo. Nothing Earth shattering with this look but it is very "me".

Camo and Neutrals

What I Wore:

Jacket: Old Navy, old (Similar)
Top: Stylemint, old (Similar)
Shorts: Gap
Wedges: 7 for All Mankind, old (Get the look, Pretty Similar, LOVE these)

What I Wore: Honing In

The great thing about blogging your outfits is that it is really easy to hone in on your comfortability and go to style. My look lately has been very casual, pretty basic and tends to incorporate color. I also tend to favor flats more than my heels. This has NEVER happened! Haha. I am also leaning towards any pant that is distressed! I love my rips and tears.

I love the sass of the hot pink in this outfit. Pairing the scarf with the basics pulled the whole look together.

Honing In

What I Wore:

Top: Mossimo V Neck, My FAV! (old color but I bought the neon coral a few weeks ago and LOVE it!)
Scarf: c/o FRAAS
Belt: BP from Nordy's, OLD (super similar)

What I Wore: Live Music

Happy Monday!

I don't know about you but the weeks are flying by! I cannot keep up with everything and I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that it is the SECOND week of April! AAAGGGHHHH! I have a lot of fun stuff coming up in the next two months including Stagecoach Country Music Festival out in Palm Springs, my birthday, a wedding for one of my bestest friends and a bachelorette party. I kicked my workout and diet regimen into HIGH gear on Friday. I want to lose 8-10 pounds in the next month so I am one disciplined woman. That also means that every thing I cannot/will not eat, I have now begun to crave. WHYYY??? Haha. Do you all have some fun stuff planned that you are looking forward to? Anyone else on a weight loss journey, like me? Let's discuss! And SUPPORT one another. :)

I am sure that I have mentioned that going to concerts or live shows is pretty much one of my favorite things to do. Ever. I am such a music lover and it really helps soothe my soul. On Friday I got to see a friend sing at a local coffee shop/art gallery. It was fun and intimate. Just what I needed to end my week/start my weekend. I got into the spirit and busted out an OLD concert tee, some distressed denim and my favorite heels. This is a look that I honestly feel the sexiest in. Simple, fun, casual.

Live Music

What I Wore:

Tee: Trunk Ltd., like 10 years old (get the look, similar)
Belt: Nordy's, old
Shoes: Shoemint, no longer available (pricier, very similar version)

Coffee Date/Hang Out Sesh

Happy, Happy, Happy Friday!

It has been a helluva week. I feel like I am on a never ending roller coaster ride, and I am ready to get off now. This should make for a very interesting post. I kind of have diarrhea of the mouth when I am feeling like this.

Sooooo.....
If we were having coffee and hanging out today, this is what I'd share:

- Job Hunting is a B-I-T-C-H. Yup I said it. I swear I thought it would be easier. I have been proven wrong. I have applied and I wait. Apply and wait. It is making me crazy, I tell you!

- I got my hair done and I am headed to a wedding tonight. I am excited to wear my new dress and rock a fun new hairstyle (inspired by Reese and Emma) . I also LOVE celebrating love. I am so happy for my friends and am honored to be celebrating them!

- When it comes to matters of the heart, I know nothing. I don't know what I am doing. Love is hard. I am afraid I lost a good one this week. Praying I didn't but I just don't know.

- I have cried more times this week than I have in the last three months. I hate it. Blah!

- I got invited to attend Lucky FABB which I am super excited about. I am *trying* to find a way to pay for my ticket so I can go! UGH! It would be such an incredible time. Is anyone going???

- I am running a 5K a week from Saturday. At Angels Stadium. I am so excited to be running another race. Plus we get to go to the game that night. BASEBALL is back. Woohoo! I heart baseball season. A lot!

- I would tell you that I didn't get to work out once this week due to a big fat bruise on my inner thigh from riding the bull at the Bachelorette party last weekend. It is HUGE, gnarly looking, black and purple and hurts to touch. My legs touch. So even walking is painful. Which means that running and cardio has been pretty much impossible. It sucks because the ONE week I REALLY needed working out as an outlet, I didn't have it. Probably why this week has been extra hard to deal with. I am craving it!

- Music is getting me through the ups and down. I have been getting in my car to drive and blow off steam and my radio level is at 50+. So loud and I don't have a system in my car. I just have a deep need to feel the music at the core of my soul. Literally. I love feeling my body shake from the vibrations.

- I would tell you that I am OBSESSED with THESE heels, that I am dying to buy these in camo and I really, really, really have to have these pants in my closet in the blue color (worn with a loose tank, wedges and straw fedora. Summer Style!). What are you currently coveting??

So tell me what is going on with you! Share something funny or light hearted if you can. Or commiserate with me and share what has been troubling you! Nothing is off limits. Good or Bad we just need to keep it real!

Thanks for reading about my awful week!
It can only get better! I really believe that!
