What I Wore: Heat Wave

I want to start off by saying THANK YOU for the amazing and kind comments you all left on yesterday's post. You made me feel like a million bucks! My hard work is paying off and my new (after a long break) blonde hair appears to be a hit! I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me. It means a lot!

Last night I got to mingle with some amazing ladies at the Madewell event hosted by Pollinate Media. It was SO fun, I had such a great time. I love being able to meet people that I have connected with in the blogosphere in real life. Madewell had some CUTE items and I am sad that I didn't have a lot of extra cash to blow. I did walk away with a pair of jeans for about $25. I am getting good at bargain shopping!

As many of you know, California has been having record breaking heat while the East Coast is being pounded by storms and snow. The differences in our world and in the US are crazy right now. It definitely makes it harder to figure out how to dress. This outfit is my way of beating the heat and still being dressed appropriately in the air conditioned buildings. My cut offs are a staple in my wardrobe. I LOVE how they look with booties. I feel so Nicole Richie-esque. I wore a tank and threw on a lightweight flowy blouse. I love how it is casual, boho chic and easy!

What I Wore: Casual Cool

I do not know what it is about this outfit that just feels like me.
If I had a personal style "uniform" it would include these pieces (with shorts for the summer time). This look screams California Casual to me. Plus I just felt really good, comfortable and even sexy in it. 

I have to proclaim my love for all things Nicole Richie. I love her attitude, her style and her clothing and accessory lines. The jacket that I am wearing is Winter Kate. It is 100% silk as is most of the Winter Kate line. Something about silk is just sexy. I have had this piece in my closet for over a year. It didn't fit me the way I had hoped when I bought it but I held onto it. I think that this piece IS the outfit. Pairing it with a slouchy white tee and my favorite cropped jeans just made the look me. I wear heels A LOT! I have started to incorporate some flats into my wardrobe but heels have my heart. I will choose heels over flats unless it isn't practical. This Shoemint pair is perfect. The neutral color, scalloping and thick heel is chic, trend right and comfortable enough to wear all day. They only thing lacking in my look is accessories. I ran out the door without a ton of jewelry on (not like me). So in the future I have to not run late ;) I do have on my FAVORITE sunnies. The are over sized cat eyes and definitely make a statement. I get that they are not for everyone. They happen to be House of Harlow 1960 which is part of Nicole's accessory line. So now you see why I love me some Nicole Richie!

What I Wore: Oldie but Goodie

I have a LOT of clothes. I really do.

I am aware of how lucky I am to have such a full closet. 

But one area that I am lacking in is my "going out" clothes.

I stand and stare at my clothes for what feels like hours every time I have to "go out" and be somewhat dressy/trendy/hot. I struggle BIG time on what is appropriate for the place, company, weather and even my age. I went to dinner and a show on Friday night and to a good friend's birthday on Saturday. Both looks were simple and nothing that special :(

What do you all wear when going out?

This outfit was from Saturday night. We had dinner and drinks downtown at a fun pub-like place. I pulled out one of my favorite pieces in my closet to dress up my jeans and tee a little bit. My Winter Kate Jasmine cardi is such a fun and easy piece to wear. I bought the kelly green heels to wear with this piece specifically. I wish that Nicole would bring back more of her simple silk cardigans to her Winter Kate line. I am a HUGE fan of the Old Navy 'Rockstar' jeggings and this is the newest color that I added to my collection. 90% of my jeans are in a dark denim and I loved the blue of this lighter pair. It is a great color for Spring.

HI! Happy Monday!

I swear that I have never been so aware of the days as I have been while blogging. It is the beginning of the week and I am still recovering from my amazing last week. I took a mini break and honestly...it felt G-double O-D good! I am still catching up on your blogs and on leaving some love. Fear not ;)

Last week I got quite a few visits from Mr. UPS. I went a little shoe crazy. BUT in my defense they were cheap (in comparison to what I usually buy) and fill holes in my shoe wardrobe. They are also perfect for transitioning in to Fall. It seems that everybody is looking for the perfect bootie since you y'all LOVED this post. In follow up to that post I did buy a pair from Target.com for TWELVE dollars. You can see them pictured on Taylor from Curly in the City's post. I am still mulling over these Old Navy pairs as well. I have posted the picture of me wearing them on Twitter and everyone loves them in Cognac. Haven't bit the bullet yet!

My most favorite pair that I bought is pictured today. I LOVITY loved them on Kourtney in this pic.I have seen them on many other celebs too. BUT the real clincher was when I saw them on Dani on Big Brother. I LOVE her style and knew that I had to have them. Side note, I am obsessed with Big Brother. I even watch the Live Show on Showtime every night. Yup! I actually ordered them online at 3am. Haha. I have so many outfits planned as the weather cools down! 

This outfit is another example of my Boho Chic look that I am loving more as each day passes. I busted out a sheer, silk Winter Kate cardigan to pair with my drapey tank and cut offs. I love that I can wear darker pieces in ode to Fall while still staying cool and comfortable.

What I Wore: Nicole Richie Inspired

I am a huge fan of Nicole Richie's style. YET I don't think that it is a look that I can always pull off. Over the past year I have collected a few pieces from her clothing and jewelry lines. I even bought a pair of her shoes for my birthday in May. I love every single piece that I own. I think that they make a statement and stand out when I wear them.

Getting ready this morning I wanted to recreate my look that I wore when I met Nicole. This time around I paired my Winter Kate 'Condor' cardi with a tube top and shorts instead of a blouse and leggings. I paired it with my House of Harlow 1960 'Sunburst' necklace and 'Cassidie' heels! Adding some beachy waves to my hair I was all 'Nicole'd' out!

Fashionista Friday: Nicole Richie

I am pretty much obsessed with Nicole Richie's style.

I wish that I was cool enough to pull off her eclectic, boho chic style. I try but I feel like a fraud. I am always wearing a piece of jewelry or sunglasses from her House of Harlow 1960 line and I have collected a few amazing Winter Kate pieces. No matter what she is doing she is true to herself and looks fantastic.

I am dying to have a long Leopard coat. Hers is vintage. Lucky girl.

She also rocks the blackest opaque tights ever. I love to pair tights with short, flouncy skirts.

Nicole is always wearing her Simone leather jacket. LOVE how the studs make this look a little tougher. Heeled booties are a staple for any wardrobe.

This white cut out dress with red lips is phenomenal.

She can do. no. wrong.

I just love this dress and especially her hair.

Vampy lips are my favorite. I LOVE deep burgundy lipstick.

Who wouldn't want her wardrobe.

She is pretty bad ass.

What I Want Wednesday {4}

I feel like I WANT so much right now.

I have put myself on a budget. I am not making as much money and I need to kick my shopping habit.

I also just paid off the rest of my credit card debt. Holy FREEING!

My only 'debt' is my Car and Student Loans.

I am so proud of myself. :)

I LOVE these wedges. I already bought them in the hair calf Leopard print. It is taking everything in my NOT to buy them in black too. These shoes are so so so versatile.

I am head over heels for this Blu Moon dress. I am lusting over maxi anything and Leopard print is truly my favorite! I think that Vanessa looks fantastic and I can only hope to look half as good in this dress.

I am a HUGE Winter Kate fan and this Condor blouse is begging to join the other clothes in my closet. I do not have anything in this mint color. The lace detailing is such a pretty and feminine touch.

I just moved and am redoing everything (this is a long term project). I bought new bedding in January and I would love to pick up this blanket to throw on the end of my bad. It would compliment my new room colors. And it looks so cozy!

I am style crushing on Blair from Atlantic-Pacific BIG TIME.

She is an insane dresser and pulls off every trend and looks impeccable.

I was so tickled to see that we have many of the same bags, shoes and accessories.

She makes me want to:

•  Jump in my closet and play dress up all day, just trying to emulate just ONE of her outfits
•  Run to my storage RIGHT now and get all of my packed away jewelry to layer like crazy
•  Change my handbag every. single. day
•  Take risks, pose in front of the camera with all I've got
•  To really lose weight. Really. For reals.

Kind of a long "WANT" list.
