What I Wore: Welcoming 2012

I went into 2012 feeling so blessed.
Seriously I have some incredible, supportive and loving people in my life. It truly blows me away. I have been quite active on Facebook lately (I really only posted pics and updates on Holidays/Birthdays for the last year and a half) and the (re)connection I have had with people has been pretty awesome. Let's just say that it is hard to feel bad or down when everyone has been so loving and encouraging. I post my Instagram pics to my Twitter and Facebook feed. I gave a sneak peak to my NYE outfit (which ended up being the best pic I have. SORRY for blurry pics, again. May have to add that to the list of things to better in 2012) and everyone made me feel like a movie star. I definitely walked a round with a strut. And that is SO not like me.

THANK you for all of the love and confidence building comments.
I feel very good :)

NYE was fun... nothing too crazy and obviously doesn't live up to the hype. I am a firm believer that it never will. We ran around LA between a party in Burbank and on the streets of Hollywood. We drank champagne, heard a band, saw an incredible view and made it home by 3:30am. Just an FYI...I decided that I want to get married on NYE. THAT would be the ultimate party. Your family and friends are with you to celebrate a union. And how cool is it to start a brand new year with your husband? Good plan, right??

Welcoming 2012

What I Wore: I wear my SEQUINS all day!

Who said that sequins are only for night time affairs???
I found an amazing pair of drapey sequin shorts at Gap.
I know, I know... my Gap obsession is getting crazy.
BUT this pair was only sold at their Flagship stores and online.
They are sold out at this time.

They are dressy and look fancy.
They are also super comfy.
It was a win win.

Here are some pics...I had literally ONE minute to take them so I wouldn't be late for my work out sesh with my trainer.
It is KIND of hard to see the sequins. SORRY!

It was an ALL black kind of day.

What I Wore:
Shorts: Gap
Cami: LC Lauren Conrad
Cardi: Halogen from Nordy's
Tights: Spanx
Shoes: Steve Madden 'Caryssa' on sale RIGHT now at Nordstrom.com

Winter 30 for 30 remix: the LAST outfit

I cannot believe I completed the challenge.
But I did...even if I don't have the pics to prove it.
(I am kind of mad at myself for that, now that I am out of my funk. That's life :()

Remixing.
I have one word for it...challenging.
I am not going to lie, I am not 100% sure that I would have completed the challenge if I was living in my home and had access to my closet. I was staying between places and only packed my 30 items. I was stuck with them. My will power would have been tested with seeing all of my clothes every day. With that said I learned a lot about my style and how I look at my closet.

What I learned:

1.   I have SO MANY clothes and I don't "create" outfits the way I should. I am super creative and that doesn't always show.

2.   I am not a "super" fan of layering. My apple shape doesn't work well with the extra padding. I love the look but don't think I pulled it off.

3.   I do NOT wear enough colors or prints. 90% of my choices were in the same color family and solid. I need some color in my life. And the prints I did choose looked the same with everything because of the monotony.

4.   I don't NEED any clothes but I need to update some staples and venture out.

5.   I missed my shoes. OH, how I missed them. I definitely use shoes to change my appearance and I felt so limited.

6. At this point I don't know if I would remix again. ONLY, Time will tell.

7. I am NOT (as) afraid to post style pics. YAY!

My LAST Outfit: #30

What I Wore:
Dress: Semantiks shift
Long Sleeve top: Rubbish
Vest: Gap
Tights: Spanx
Shoes: Trouve
Belt: H&M braided skinny
Thoughts???
Fellow re-mixers...what are your wrap up words of wisdom?

Winter 30 for 30 remix: Outfit 14 of 30

I need help...
I have been studying blogs and how people pose.
It does NOT come naturally to me.
I think that my lack of confidence shows. BIG TIME!
So how do you do it?

Since I am already asking for help, I have another question.
How do I overcome my fear of people thinking that I am weird for taking multiple pics of myself, posing?

I am SO proud of myself for taking on this challenge.
It is helping me accomplish my 2011 goals.
(this is where I would link that post but Blogger has been giving me problems for the last few days. Sad)
#2 To build my confidence and post more on my style
and
#6 To spend smarter and hopefully less

OUTFIT 14

Top: #5 Gap tie neck blouse
Bottom: Skirt #1 Old Navy pocket skirt
Shoes: #2 YSL Trib Too's

Winter 30 for 30 remix: Outfit 6 of 30

I have resorted to iPhone pics.
A dead battery has turned me Ghetto.
This is Wednesday's outfit.
I felt classy and loved how the jewelry jazzed up a rather simple ensemble. It was a work day so dressy outfits are a must.

(Please ignore the bed and the clothes in the background. NOTE: This is NOT my bedroom :))

The entire ensemble

Textured tights and SKY high heels

My most favorite necklace

What I Wore:

Dress: #2 BCBG in Navy (though you STILL can't tell from the pics)
Shoes: #5 Jessica Simpson 'Dany'
Tights: Spanx
Belt: Skinny patent croc by Michael Kors
Jewelry: House of Harlow 1960 Leather Stations necklace, Alexis Bittar ring and Michael Kors watch

Winter 30 for 30 Remix: Outfit 2 of 30

I have two days behind my belt and I am already learning so much. SCORE!
1. Not all black apparel pieces are slimming
2. I need to find someone to take my pics. OUTSIDE!
(Hey friends...this means you. Haha)
3. Practice posing in front of the mirror. Confidence is KEY!

I am not loving my second outfit.
BUT I can see what I would do differently.
Tell me what you think.

Outfit Two of Thirty

What I Wore
Top: #8 Target Pocket Tank
WOrk Bottoms: #3 Banana Republic shorts
Blazer: #2 Halogen Ponte Knit Blazer
Shoes: #2 YSL Trib Too pumps
Accessories: House of Harlow 1960 Leather Stations and Sunburst necklaces, MMK watch, Grandma's Ring (gift)

A little daring for a work outfit...shorts and sheer tights?!?
I like the concept it just didn't feel slimming nor did it photograph that way!
Third times the charm :)

291: Tights

I am a HUGE fan of tights.
The more opaque the better.
While many style bloggers LOVE colored tights, I stick with black, dark brown and textured (usually in black. Maybe gray or beige). I do not feel comfortable in the crazy colors but I totally think they look cute on others!

Tights are a great way to dress up an outfit.
Keep you warm{er} in the winter.
And slim your areas that need it!

I saw that Jessica Simpson was wearing the Spanx lace 'bloom' tights a few days ago.

I bought these about a month ago and I LOVE them.
Comfy, thick and stylish.
And they are about $28 bucks.
Not bad for a control top pair!

Textured tights are a HUGE trend.
