What I Wore: Chunky Knit and Prints

In so many ways I use blogging as my journal. I know exactly what I was feeling and thinking when I go back and read old posts. I love that I am able to channel my thoughts into one place even when they aren't always sunshine and rainbows! Thanks for understanding that I cannot always complete an entire thought process or share what the exact scenario is and for reading anyways!

When I saw THIS PIC of Khloe Kardashian back in July I knew I had to buy those jeans. I found them for a GREAT price on Amazon and wear them all of the time! I love that she wore such a light denim with black. I tend to wear lighter colors with lighter denim because I feel like sometimes the combo is almost too drastic. But I finally decided to try it out. I grabbed a chunky knit sweater and my fringe boots and pulled together a fun, casual look.

If you follow my on Instagram, I wore this outfit on the day I bought TWO coffees. I thought it was worth noting since I barely drink once coffee a week BUT I was exhausted! I look at these pics and see how tired I was. Minimal make up, I didn't brush my hair and dark circles. Another way to document my life... I had a GREAT date the night before. Talking to someone until 3am is always worth looking a little haggard!

What I Wore: Slumming It

The Monday's after a Holiday weekend are always the hardest! I am on weekend getaway delirium and wishing that I wasn't back to reality! I hope that you all had nice, happy and FUN Holiday.

Most Monday's this is what I look like. Slumming it! I am almost always dressed down and as casual as I can be! I want to be comfy and pretend that I am not starting a new week. Even though I am dressed down I think that the pieces I chose to wear give the outfit a little more oomph than the basic tee and jeans.This Henley is so incredibly soft that I bought it in olive green as well. I love that the buttons are mother of pearl which classes the tee up a bit. ;) Pairing it with my very distressed jeans makes the look a little edgier and hopefully more fun. I love wearing brown and navy so my moccasins were the right choice for comfort and style. My hair was disgusting but I am forcing myself to only was every 4-5 days so I threw on my trusty ol' Yankees cap to complete the look (which I got so much crap for wearing by the guys at work). I added rose gold hoops, a rose gold MK watch and rose gold ring to add some simple pieces but still be accessorized (you cannot see them in these pics). 

What do you think? Too basic to blog about or do you like seeing me in real, every day clothes? I am really trying to have a balance of dressier/trendy/date looks and those easy to wear, basic every day looks on the blog. But I want to keep you all interested, so let me know your thoughts!

Let's just call this unflattering outfit week here on the blog.

Holy Bananas. I am clearly choosing comfort over looking svelte.

As huge as this sweater makes me look, it sure keeps me warm.

I am a sucker for cardi/wrap/blanket looking sweaters. This one is extremely similar to the one I wore here. Pairing it with my favorite jeggings (that are too big now. YAY. And kind of sad!) and my Minnetonka boots makes me so happy. The guys at work made fun of me for wearing a "poncho". I have to share with you that I work with ALL guys. It is a completely opposite environment from anything I have ever worked in. And I love it. Yes they don't get my clothes, don't care or want to know that I have cramps and completely ignore the fact that I am eating healthy and bring donuts and fudge. But it is perfect for the place that I am at personally. OH and my office is freezing. So I have to bundle up (which just made me realize why I am choosing comfort and cozy clothes).

What I Wore: Casual Thanksgiving

Hi Friends!

It has been awhile.

I hope you all had a FABULOUS Thanksgiving weekend.

It still hasn't hit me that it is December. 

This is the first Holiday Season in four years that I will not be traveling.

I am SO excited to make the most of it. I want to really celebrate and get into the Christmas season. I have a short list of things that I hope to do this month.

They are...

1. Drive around looking at Christmas lights while drinking a Peppermint Mocha

2. Go Ice Skating at an outdoor rink (if there is one in CA? Haha)

3. Walk around The Grove in LA during their "Winter Wonderland" (Kristen...you in?? This could be our meet up!)

4. Have a Kiss underneath the Mistletoe

5. Attend as many Holiday Parties as I can (or am invited too)

What is on your list?

This outfit was worn up in San Luis Obispo over Thanksgiving weekend. I spent a couple of days up there with my fam. It was unusually warm for the holiday and we spent the morning at the beach. It was GORGEOUS and just what I needed to clear my head.

It has been in the 60's in LA all week. 

It kind of got me excited for Fall. Yes, I am admitting it.

After posting my Travel Tuesday post I knew that I had to break out my Minnetonka's this week. I have been DYING to wear them. These shoes are so comfy. I could not stop staring at my feet while I was walking around (which can actually be kind of dangerous. Haha) because the fringe flying around is awesome! I have a feeling that I am always going to want to wear them when I wear leggings. I also have to point out how AWESOME Chambray shirts are. They really do go with everything. Dressed up or down.

Tuesday Travel Style {40}

Ever since I bought these boots I have been DYING to wear them.

It is still pretty warm and I was extremely hot the one time I tried to wear them. Excitement beat out sweat! Sexy, huh?! Haha.

I have seen these boots on many peeps but they stood out on Miss Kourtney.

I love when she rocks the casual boho look. I think she looks amazing and I would copy every outfit that she wears if I could. This is my next travel outfit. Hands down!

I think that Kourtney has the best fashion sense of all three girls. I keep mentioning this but as time goes by it just becomes more and more true. I am a sucker for a worn in plaid shirt and leggings really are the best bottoms to wear on a plane. Honestly if you are wearing these to pieces it is almost as good as wearing your PJ's. She wore her hair back and is carrying a large handbag. Both essential for the plane ride. Mason is such a cutie! Seeing his sweet style makes me excited for my lil' nephew!

What I Wore: Fringe

HI! Happy Monday!

I swear that I have never been so aware of the days as I have been while blogging. It is the beginning of the week and I am still recovering from my amazing last week. I took a mini break and honestly...it felt G-double O-D good! I am still catching up on your blogs and on leaving some love. Fear not ;)

Last week I got quite a few visits from Mr. UPS. I went a little shoe crazy. BUT in my defense they were cheap (in comparison to what I usually buy) and fill holes in my shoe wardrobe. They are also perfect for transitioning in to Fall. It seems that everybody is looking for the perfect bootie since you y'all LOVED this post. In follow up to that post I did buy a pair from Target.com for TWELVE dollars. You can see them pictured on Taylor from Curly in the City's post. I am still mulling over these Old Navy pairs as well. I have posted the picture of me wearing them on Twitter and everyone loves them in Cognac. Haven't bit the bullet yet!

My most favorite pair that I bought is pictured today. I LOVITY loved them on Kourtney in this pic.I have seen them on many other celebs too. BUT the real clincher was when I saw them on Dani on Big Brother. I LOVE her style and knew that I had to have them. Side note, I am obsessed with Big Brother. I even watch the Live Show on Showtime every night. Yup! I actually ordered them online at 3am. Haha. I have so many outfits planned as the weather cools down! 

This outfit is another example of my Boho Chic look that I am loving more as each day passes. I busted out a sheer, silk Winter Kate cardigan to pair with my drapey tank and cut offs. I love that I can wear darker pieces in ode to Fall while still staying cool and comfortable.

What I Wore: Hippie

I love the boho chic look. The style of Nicole Richie, Vanessa Hudgens and Laura from On the Racks inspire me so much! They wear some incredible pieces that I cannot even dream of pulling off. But they are challenging me to try new things therefore building up my courage to just go for it.

I have never worn a head to toe trend but I decided to try it. I like the way it turned out (I hate the pictures though. Can't win them all). I wanted to wear my moccasins because they are good fro traveling and I knew that I would be on a plane. I tend to base many of my outfits around my shoes. My favorite cut offs were the next piece that I wanted to wear. I picked out my jewelry next...one feather earring from my friend Jess that she gave me for my birthday and one wood bangle to play up my moccasins. Channeling my love for Nicole I had two Winter Kate pieces picked out, but the both had sleeves, I knew I would be too hot. I decided to pull out my crochet halter/tank that I last wore at the Britney concert and knew that my look was complete. The cherry on top was a side braid in my hair...hippie from head to toe ;). I felt like I mastered the Boho look. What do you think??

Tuesday Travel Style {29}

This weekly post is one of my favorite to put together.

It is always fun to see the most simple outfits to the all out glam outfits at the airport. When I traveled for work I could sit and people watch for HOURS!!

 

I love Kourtney's style.

She knows how to dress for her shape and takes risks.

This outfit is tame but PERFECT for a long flight.

She flew from LA to NYC!

Kourt and Mason look so so happy! Both of them are stylish beings. It is super easy to emulate Kourtney's look because she is wearing the basics. A white V-Neck tee, classic black leggings and a chambray/denim button up. She makes the outfit pop with her Minnetonka boots. Minnetonka makes the most comfortable shoes ever! She has been wearing those Prada cat eye glasses EVERYWHERE! I love that she is carrying her Birkin in the Hermes orange! It pops the outfit and is just so pretty!

It isn't often that you find me in flats, Flip Flops aside.

I have been wanting a pair of casual flats for awhile.

And I have REALLY been wanting some moccasins.

So I bought some.

These shoes are so comfy and look great with Jeans.

I cannot wait to wear them this weekend.
