What I Wore: Camo and Neutrals

I cannot focus on all that I have going on this week because I will be at Stagecoach in TWO days! I am so excited I can barely stand it! I have planned my outfits and have been working out like crazy! I cannot wait to just be by the pool! And listen to music. Obvi!

Since I have been running around like a crazy person I am sticking to the staples. It has still been warm during the day but it definitely cools down at night. I haphazardly threw this jacket on while running out the door. It was a subtle way to mix prints and the wedges still kept the look more girly, and showed off my legs! Hehe. I love the mix of the neutral stripes and the camo. Nothing Earth shattering with this look but it is very "me".

What I Wore: The Daily Get Up

There are SO many more Pros than Cons to working from home. But one con is that I hardly ever get dressed in normal clothes let alone actually get dressed up. Most days I go from pajamas to work out apparel and then back to pajamas. Sometimes I throw on a tee, a pair of jeans and flats when I have to run errands and not look like I rolled straight out of bed. As you can see from yesterday's post and now today's, this is what I look like most of the time. And it is not that blog worthy. Might I add that make up happens 2-3 times a week. Haha. I have not a drop of make up on my face in these pics or in yesterday's. Keeping it real, y'all!

This is such a simple look. I try to have a little sass when I wear just jeans and a tee. This tee is fun because of the color and color blocking. I also like to wear fun shoes. These are jellies and they bring me back to my childhood. They are actually super comfy and really cute. I tend to wear my glasses when I am on the computer a lot. Plus I have convinced myself that you can't tell I am not wearing make up when I have them on. Lol.

Monday, Monday.

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I kept myself busy watching every NFL playoff game (sad the Packers lost but happy the Patriots won), watching the Golden Globes and even had dinner and went to a crab cookout. It was a great mix of fun and relaxation.

I was going to do a Golden Globes post but stopped myself. Haha. I LOVED Tina and Amy as hosts and wished we saw more of them. I will quickly recap my Best Dressed. I am drawn to really fashion forward looks. I look at details, fit, color and go from there. I am over the simple and safe looks.

1. Naomi Watts in Zac Posen: The color, the detail, the open back and the fit were all perfection. She looked GORGEOUS.

2. Katherine McPhee in Theysken's Theory : Sex appeal in basic black, the cut, the slit and the heels. She was sexy and edgy and I think her body is banging right now!

3. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture: She can do no wrong. This color looked amazing on her, her waist looked so tiny with that amazing metallic belt detail and I know that people didn't like the chest detail but I think it worked. She is just insanely beautiful and fun. I totally LOVED her speech too!

4. Julianne Hough in Monique Lhuillier : Edgy and pretty. I loved the white and gold. She is just a beauty.

5. Jennifer Garner in Vivienne Westwood: Hello Sexy Mama! I loved the red, the sweetheart neckline and her make up! Plus I am obsessed with her man. ;)

This outfit is from Friday and let me tell you, I ended up REALLY regretting wearing ripped denim. It has been SO COLD (cold for CA) and I am a huge baby! I was freezing all day in this get up inspite of the long sleeve shirt and sweater I was wearing. I love pairing navy with lighter denim and the neutral top and shoes complement the blues. This sweater is from the men's department. I bought it a size too big because I REALLY wanted it, but now that I see it in pics I may have to try and find a smaller size. I added a red lip because I had very little make up on and I wanted to look more put together. Haha. What do you think of this look?

My love for Aztec print continues.

When I saw this sweater on Laura of Ascot Friday and my friend, Heather, I knew I had to have it! It is oversized, voluminous and so cozy chic. I paired it with basics and neutrals. I liked the contrast of the cognac boots with the darker pieces. The beanie was a must. Dirty hair plus COLD weather equals added warmth! And once again my Lisa Leonard 'Chevron' necklace is a perfect match! I love this whole look (even though, once again, NOT slimming!).

I hope that you all had an incredible Holiday!

I had a great couple of days spending time with friends that are JUST like Family. I missed mine immensely but survived my first holiday on my own. It feels nice! Now back to work and real life, until Friday that is!

For a BIG Christmas dinner I knew the only clothes to wear were stretchy leggings, a drapy top and cardigan. This look is forgiving and allowed me to eat! I always like an all black look with a print or pop of color as a topper.

What I Wore: Slumming It

The Monday's after a Holiday weekend are always the hardest! I am on weekend getaway delirium and wishing that I wasn't back to reality! I hope that you all had nice, happy and FUN Holiday.

Most Monday's this is what I look like. Slumming it! I am almost always dressed down and as casual as I can be! I want to be comfy and pretend that I am not starting a new week. Even though I am dressed down I think that the pieces I chose to wear give the outfit a little more oomph than the basic tee and jeans.This Henley is so incredibly soft that I bought it in olive green as well. I love that the buttons are mother of pearl which classes the tee up a bit. ;) Pairing it with my very distressed jeans makes the look a little edgier and hopefully more fun. I love wearing brown and navy so my moccasins were the right choice for comfort and style. My hair was disgusting but I am forcing myself to only was every 4-5 days so I threw on my trusty ol' Yankees cap to complete the look (which I got so much crap for wearing by the guys at work). I added rose gold hoops, a rose gold MK watch and rose gold ring to add some simple pieces but still be accessorized (you cannot see them in these pics). 

What do you think? Too basic to blog about or do you like seeing me in real, every day clothes? I am really trying to have a balance of dressier/trendy/date looks and those easy to wear, basic every day looks on the blog. But I want to keep you all interested, so let me know your thoughts!

Happy Monday!

I am so excited to blog today because I have been DYING to show you all these pants. Last week's leopard print dress post was quite popular with you all and I am hoping you like this look just as much. I have been lusting over these pants since seeing The Budget Babe's Instagram Fall Preview pics back in June! I love anything leopard print and knew that I had to have these the moment I saw them. My friend, Amber over at Real Girl Glam, LOVES leopard as much as I do and I knew that she would have to have these pants as well. I asked her to post with me about how to wear these pants. We actually styled them very similarly (I shouldn't be surprised since we have similar taste)! Maybe I can talk her into a couple more posts were we challenge ourselves and each other to wear show how versatile these pants can be!

I knew that I wanted my look to be a littler dressier than normal. This is a look that I would wear on a dinner date, for a special occasion or a Holiday. I use a dark lip and accessories to make my outfit look a little sassier. I hardly ever wear lipstick so when it is on you know that I am trying a little bit harder. Haha. The cowl neck of the shirt gives the basic black some pop and I think looks fancier. It was perfect for showing off my Statement necklace, which I think completes the look. I am OBSESSED with these pumps and I am SO glad that I bought them. I have worn them THREE times since Wednesday. Since they are the color of the season I knew that wearing the same color lip would complement and make the color stand out with such a bold print. 
Just an FYI, I hemmed the pants an inch so that the hit above my ankle instead of at my ankle. It helped elongate my legs!

Speaking of accessories, I want to talk a minute about my jewelry. I know that I am late to the game but I attended my first Stella and Dot party. I am obsessed. I found ten things that I had to have, couldn't live with out, wanted so bad! I know, I am a bit dramatic. I was super impressed with the quality but most importantly I LOVED the designs. It has been awhile since I have shared some of the pics that I have taken while out and about that didn't make it to Instagram. I love having my photos on my phone but I was thinking the other day how sad it is that I will never have that feeling of getting my film developed and seeing the memories that were captured. I hardly ever get pics developed from my digital camera or phone. In fact I have a whole house that needs to be decorated and I have plenty of frames to fill. I was showing someone my house and realized that the only pics I have are a couple years old. So I need to get on that.

 L) I was so excited to find the Owl Sweater at Target. I obsessed over THIS LOOK that Kate Bosworth wore last Spring to the Burberry show and I think I can find a way to style it to my taste.

 You guys... I am O-B-E-S-E-S-S-E-D with this CD. Beyond obsessed. I have listened to NOTHING else since I bought it. I relate to every song especially as I have been trying to find love again. I have DVR'd everything that she has been on. I called my sister for an intervention the other night. Yup. I am 30 going on 13. No biggie!

 I think you are all familiar with the main man in my life. My nephew!!!!

I grow to love him more and more. He really is the most handsome little boy ever! The boy gets his style from me. Haha.

 Lastly... I am ITCHING to dye my hair. I have had it natural for the last year. I am missing being blonde and I think this is a good compromise. I sent this pic to my hair stylist and I am waiting to hear back. I PROBABLY won't change it, but I sure am tempted. What do you think? Should I????????
