What I Wore: Camo Star

Happy Monday, my friends!

Today I am starting a month long gig back at Nordstrom. WHAT???? I swore I wouldn't go back. Never say never! Haha. I was asked to help out for the Anniversary sale and it was too good of a gig to pass up. I am going to DIE waking up at 6am for the next few weeks. I have definitely gotten used to my princess, work from home, schedule. Wish me luck!

This was the perfect outfit for running around the beach, following my nephew and niece around. I love camo print ESPECIALLY when it has a pretty gold star on it! My cut offs are just a go to. I did a little print mixing with my leopard print sandals. The look was cute and easy.

Happy Monday y'all!

I had quite the busy weekend full of LOTS of quality friend time. And you know what? It was so so so needed. I am so incredibly blessed and thankful for the people that have been placed in my life. From girls night, to hikes overlooking the coast, dinner in a bar wearing Uggs and a sweatshirt and then a Bridal Shower for a friend that I have known since I was 7 years old, I was reminded that I know SO many women who feed my soul and just get me! As busy as the weekend was, it truly fed my soul. My heart is really happy!

This outfit is seriously my new favorite. It is my favorite for two reasons. The first reason being is that I realized something important about myself while wearing it. :) The second is that I love how effortlessy cool and chic it is. I swear I am in love with how a simple V Neck tee and Leather jacket look. Paired with some polka dot skinnies the look is perfect. I kept my jewelry simple and actually wore flats. I ran around in this all day.

What I Wore: Winter Maxi Dress

Happy Hump Day!!

I swear Wednesday's make me really happy for some weird reason. I think because the majority of the week is behind us. This week I have gotten in a couple killer work outs, I have a date planned and I have gotten a lot of blog stuff done. Pretty productive if you ask me! I am still playing around with the camera and I am hoping that I can get in some more practice this week. As long as the rain goes away!! As you can see I am still playing with lighting along with trying different places to go and at different times of the day. I included a pic (the first one) that is a little darker to show my growth and progress.

We had a few days where it was 85 degrees and it was absolutely glorious! I have had this dress for a couple years and hardly ever wear it. I forget that it is in my closet until I see it on someone else randomly. This dress was perfect for the weather. Since it is still winter I wore this dress with booties for two reasons. One, I have seen other girls pull off this look and wanted to try it since it is season appropriate. Two, I really like wearing a neutral color with black. I threw on a lot of gold and black jewelry to complete the look. I felt like it was a kind of seventies, boho vibe. Which is my favorite look!

 I am still using my mini, flexible tripod. It worked well on the bench.

What I Wore: Ways to Wear

Is it just me or does the weekend go by so much faster during the Holidays?
I guess time flies when you are having fun! :)

I am so happy to be doing another 'Ways to Wear' challenge with Amber over at Real Girl Glam. We both love these pants and know that they are a piece that scare people. Haha. They are definitely a statement maker and we wanted to show you that you can wear these pants in so many ways. Last time we dressed the pants pretty similarly so we knew we had to challenge ourselves this time around. We came up with completely different looks! I don't know about you but I want to copy her entire look. Those booties are too die for!

Let me explain my look...
I totally pushed myself out of my comfort zone. I took a risk by mixing in a gray and white sweatshirt with such a bold print. I love gray and cognac together so that was where I got the idea. I feel like adding in the shoes tied the color combo together. I wanted to show you that you can wear these pants in a more casual way. I wore this outfit to run errands and I was comfy in it. I honestly liked how the look turned out but can see where it is still that this may be an outlandish look for a lot of you.

Hi Friends!

I am so excited that the weekend is finally here. I am headed to Central California to a little town that I have been dying to visit with my best friend. I am in need of a little getaway. It is always nice to head to the beach to clear my head. Happy place!

Last night I had a work meeting and left SO EXCITED and really felt like myself again. It is so stimulating to be around people that are passionate and full of ideas. I could talk about this for days but I will spare you. :)

Just know that I feel BLESSED.

Surprise, Surprise... I am wearing skinnies and booties again. I love the combo of black, camel and red together. Even if it reminds me of a Target employee. Haha. Polka Dots are pretty feminine to me so I like to toughen them up when I wear them. I think the studded, motorcycle type booties help keep the look from being too sweet. This is a pretty simple and easy look to pull together.

Happy Hump Day!!

We are half way through the week...YAY!

I don't know if it is because my birthday is on Monday or that my work/fitness/personal life is insane but this week is flying by. I wanted to write a fabulous post about the Fashion Show I judged (next week...hopefully), I wanted to try and respond to some blog comments (I have 1000+ emails that need attention) and I wanted to visit some of you (isn't happening anytime soon. I am SO SORRY!!) but I only have one goal in mind (my 30x30) and that takes precedence. Don't hate me...I still love you all!!

SO this outfit...

I saw this dress last month on Target Style's Facebook and knew I HAD to have it even though the comments on it were less than pleasant. I am DIGGING the hi/lo (aka MULLET) look and my mint obsession is getting out of control. So this dress was right up my alley. Paired with a black skinny belt and my favorite (right now) wedges I knew this look was perfect for judging my local High School's fashion show. A little secret...I HAD to wear my hair in the bun because I had work out hair. Ewwww....gross, I know! But I only had time for a rinse. Thank the Lord for dry shampoo ;)

What I Wore: Perfect Fitting pants no more!

It was really fun to read what you all thought. I will let you know what I decide but I can tell you that my personal fav was NOT one of the more popular ones to you. Haha. I completely spaced on sharing with you that the glasses are ONLY $95. SUPER affordable! I hope that you all check them out if you have the need! I pulled out my perfect fitting pants the other day. These pants have been a go to for the past two years. I have not worn them since I started losing weight. Low and behold they are loose! They don't hug and are baggy and ripple in some areas. I am excited (and a little sad since I have the hardest times with pants). I am holding strong to NOT buying clothes this month, even though I have gone to try on for the fun of it. No clothes until I truly NEED them because the ones I currently own do not fit :)

I generally wear a looser fitting top when I wear really tight pants. I also wanted to wear a scarf while I still can. It has been warm but not hot so I figured I would take advantage. I love cognac paired with olive so my JS shoes were the perfect complement. These shoes continue to do no wrong in my eyes. I LOVE them so much.

What I Wore: Day to Night

I am bouncing up and down on the couch as I write this post. I feel like everything came together perfectly. I guess that is what a little planning can do! I have not done a versatility post on how you can wear an outfit from day to night. When I bought this leopard jumpsuit I knew that I would have to be able to wear it more than once. It was fun playing dress up today!

Recipe for Versatility:

- Love for leopard print? Check.

- Kind of Obsessed with the Kardashian's style? Check.

- Passion for Accessories? Check.

Hands down...this is the most leopard print I have ever worn at one time. BUT this jumpsuit is so comfy. It is like wearing a chic onesie! I got some weird stares as I was running some errands today. It is safe to say that Trader Joe's wasn't ready for my style. ;) This is a piece from the Kardashian Kollection sold at Sears. I bought this piece on their pre-sale last week with NO intention of keeping it. I honestly didn't think it would fit and I was super intimidated by the large print. It is to my pleasant surprise that I actually like it! I think it will fit a tiny bit better when I lose 6 more pounds (Thank the good lord for weight watchers) but the print is actually forgiving. The material is jersey and slightly thinner than I expected. It is well made and very trend right. Even though I have many great things to say, I would NOT spend the $100 price tag, I am glad that I got it at 35% off.

Day...

Night...

To change the look to 'smoking siren' it is all about the hair, make up and accessories.

I changed my hair to have a deep side part and pulled back one side to show off my pop of color earrings. I added a wide belt, strappy black heels and chunky bangles to dress up the jumpsuit. I found the perfect red lipstick for me and think that the color is perfect with leopard print. I also added a neutral clutch that stood out against the print instead of choosing a black bag that feels too matchy matchy!

Other outfits that I can think of pairing the jumpsuit with is a Grandpa cardigan and flip flops for the day, Blazer and pointy toe stilettos for work, All white accessories, High Bun, a pop of color from shoes or a camisole peaking through. In fact, there are many possibilities for this piece.

What I Wore: Around Town

How many of you wear make up every, single day?

I don't. I wear BIG, over sized sunglasses.

And a cute outfit. It totally deters people from looking at my face. Haha.

I wore this outfit to run errands the other day. I bought these shorts at Target and I L-O-V-E them. Not only are they a great length, comfortable and dressier...they have pleats that help hide any lumps and bumps I may have. I paired them with an over sized top because I really wanted to try the half tuck. I did the half tuck with a maxi skirt and thought it worked well for the look. So many bloggers do it with all types of bottoms and I felt like I couldn't quite pull it off with tighter waste bands (my stomach is my problem area). I also loved that the shirt was a couple shades darker than my shoes, which really spiced up a rather simple ensemble.
