Farewell 2010

This year might not have been one of my best but if I can look back at it and sum it up in one word it would be, "GROWTH". I have made more changes this year and have a few more coming up. I made grown up decisions, decisions I never thought I would have to, I moved back home, have been humbled, awakened, and am finally starting to feel alive again. I have questioned every aspect of my life and grew up.

I know what makes me happy, what will make me happy and what I have to do to achieve it every single day.

I will always be grateful for this year even though it hurt like hell. Thank you for going on this journey with me. Since this blog has catered to my passion you experienced lapses of time where I couldn't write, took breaks and poured my soul into feeding this passion while not really knowing what was going on behind the computer screen. I made some incredible "virtual" friends that are now a part of my every day life.

My blog has become to be a part of me and I am so excited to see what 2011 brings.

365....

It is hard for me to write this post knowing that I didn't complete my goal of a daily post for every day of the year. I got close! I posted 339 things that I loved in 2010. It was definitely a stretch and took on a different connotation than I thought it would.

I learned a lot and know that I will be continuing with weekly posts and trying out some different things in 2011. I know that I will NOT be committing to posting every single day. Man, that got stressful!

I hope that you will all continue to come along on this journey with me!

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading, commenting, supporting and learning with me!

339: NYE accessories

I am a total Accessory girl.
I buy WAY more accessories than I do clothes.
They are super versatile and can make the oldest thing look new and fresh.

I saw this picture of Kourtney Kardashian and LOVED how she paired a sequin shrug to dress up her little black dress.
{image via officialkourtneyk.celebuzz.com}

Nordstrom sells a similar version in silver, gold and black.
(it is not available online)

{personal image}

Another fun option is a glittery headband.
I love these from Nordy's
Cara Star and Bow headbands

338: She is still Jenny

It took me many, many years to like J. Lo.
Many years.

While I still have mixed feelings about her talent, she is a fierce dresser. She wears the most amazing things. And she is a trend setter.

This outfit is her attempt at casual.
And I kind of love it.
I am sure that many of you are going to hate on the Uggs.
But as "uncool" as many people think they are...I am obsessed. And will always wear them.

337: "Blanket" sweaters

As Storm Watch 2010 continues in California the only thing I can think about is staying cozy. What better way is there to be cozy than to be wrapped in a blanket in front of a fire? Since that isn't possible I think that wrapping up in a blanket like sweater would be the next best thing.

All three of these ladies look like they are cozy.
I am loving the bold prints that were chosen.

336: Rainy Day attire

The rain isn't keeping many people from living their every day lives. I mean, Christmas is in a few days and clearly people are still shopping.

There seems to be a uniform for this weather.
It is made up of Hunter boots and Black jackets.
Some throw in a droopy beanie.

Would this be your uniform too?

335: NYE shoes

{image via purseblog.com}

I saw these Louboutin's and I knew that they were the quintessential New Year's Eve shoes.
I love the subtle sparkle, the Mary Jane strap and the large peep toe.
These shoes ooze sex appeal!

But since we all cannot afford Loub's...
Here are some great alternatives

These beauties are $129.95
{image via Nordstrom.com}

This silhouette has been my FAV all season. I own it in three colors.
It is HIGH, sexy and solicits MANY compliments!
I HIGHLY recommend this shoe

Nordstrom exclusive for $88.95
{image via Nordstrom.com}

I love that these have Gold and Silver.
They will go with anything!

and last but NOT least.
My new PERSONAL favorite...

Mildly priced at $109.95

{images via stevemadden.com}

These look JUST like the Louboutin's without the Mary Jane strap.
They are festive and super sexy.
These will be moving into my closet very, very soon!

334: NYE dresses

*** Every day this week at 1pm my 365 post will be about what you can wear for NYE. All of the items suggested are NOT to be worn together! They are just fun ways to incorporate some sparkle, sheen and shine into your NYE outfit!***

{image via justjared.com}

{image via starstyleinc.com}

My favorite thing about dressing up for New Year's Eve is busting out all of my sparkly pieces.
Why I feel that it is necessary to resemble a disco ball is beyond me.
But I love it.

The dresses above on Anne and Ashley are gorgeous.
They are chic, sophisticated and GREAT options for NYE.

Here are some CHEAPER options...

MY favorite is...
This dress is $128

This dress is $58

{images via Nordstrom.com}

333: Rebel WITH a cause

I have been crushing on the motorcycle boot trend for awhile.
But have yet to find a pair that isn't too "rough" looking.
I am definitely more of a girly girl and I don't know if I can pull the look off.

But I was working on Saturday and I found a pair that I think I can wear.
I have been thinking about them non stop.
It is taking everything in my NOT to buy them online and to wait until Thursday when I can buy them in store!

Here they are...

{image via nordstrom.com}

They are cute and rugged.
I love that they fold and that there are only two buckles.
PLUS they are flat!
I will have shoes to wear in the rain and still look cute!

I am getting so excited.
Eeeeeeeeee....... :)

332: Rainy Monday

It has been raining in Southern California for days!
It NEVER rains like this.
I lived in Seattle for a fleeting moment in time and I am having flashbacks.
Would you believe that i have ZERO pairs of shoes that work in the rain?
I have boots...but they are in a super high heel or seude.
I have Uggs but we all know that they are not water proof.
I have tennis shoes, Vans slip ons and Chucks, but they get soaked in 2.5 seconds.

So I need to head to target to find rain boots that fit!
The Hunter boots don't fit my calves :(

So in all this rain, many celebs are still finding a way to look cute! I love this picture of Reese.
{image via peoplestylewatch.com}

The jacket, scarf and boots are darling.
She looks casual, comfy and chic!

12.19.2010

331: Oversized with Ruffles?

The perfect accessory for any outfit is an over sized, ruffled scarf. Luckily, Echo makes an incredible one!

{image via nordstrom.com}

When I say over sized I mean it!
You have to wrap and drape to achieve this chic look.
But nothing seems cozier than an over sized scarf.
You can look put together AND stay warm.

Pick one up for yourself!

330: Valentino "Resort" shoes

{images via Nordstrom.com}

Alright, I give you my two favorite shoes for Resort (December thru February my friends. It's a season. A FASHION season). And they both happen to be from Valentino, and Nude. Hmm....

Many of my friends think that I sleep in my heels.
That I only wear heels every where that I go.
This is only partly true.
(I have multiple pairs of Haviana's and a few pairs of flat sandals and ballet flats. REALLY, I do)

While both of these shoes are by the same designer and just so happen to be in the same color, they are two very different styles. I am happy to showcase my love for flip flops, beyond the heels :)

The lace bow sandals are girly and comfy.
These can be worn with everything from jeans and a tee to summer dresses.
I am picturing myself wearing them with a green, silk romper with lots of gold jewelry.
I am addicted to the bow and I am so NOT a bow girl.

And the nude t strap heels with the beautiful rosette makes me swoon.
I love the different textures in the flower and the nude, napa leather is smooth as buttah!
The peep toe is slight and pretty!

329: Valentino Poster Child

{image via starstyleinc.com}

{image via justjared.com}

Jessica Alba's designer of choice is more often than not Valentino. She has worn come of their most amazing dresses. These two really stood out to me.

Valentino believes that Black and White are the two most important colors followed by red. The house is known for bows, rosettes and lace...very feminine detailing.
Both of the dresses featured embody the House and Valentino's vision. They look AMAZING on her!

I would give my left foot to own BOTH of the dresses.
They look different and stand out for different elements.

328: Flirty {winter} Florals

{image via peoplestylewatch.com}

I want this dress.
The nude color is amazing and the large floral motif is a statement with out being over the top.
The bustier and ruching are gorgeous touches.

Kristin is absolutely glowing.
Her hair is the perfect blonde and her smoky eye completes the look.

She is turning into quite the Fashionista.

327: Miu Miu Glitter Loafer pumps

{image via net-a-porter.com}

Miu Miu makes the most outstanding shoes.
Every season there is always one pair that is special and stands out.
I have had my eye on these babies for awhile.
My favorite thing about these shoes is the color. I am drawn to anything that is in that ox blood red color.
AND not only is it the perfect red BUT it is sparkly.
I was sold there alone.
But I also love that it is a menswear inspired silhouette with all of the girliest details.
I especially love the ankle strap.

Someone PLEASE Buy them! Or I will have to...

326: Fitted Sheath dresses

Nothing looks better on a woman's figure than a fitted sheath dress. This silhouette shows off the figure, is sexy but isn't too revealing. You can pair it with a cardigan or blazer for work or funk it up with loads of jewelry for a night out. I prefer my sheath's to hit right below my knee, it helps elongate my body. A sheath that hits just above the knee is very flattering as well!

{image via starstyleinc.com}

This dress is my favorite. I love the color, the cap sleeves and the deep V neck.
I love how Hilary pairs the dress with nude heels.
Makes Hil look long and lean.

{image via hillsfreak.blogspot.com}

Lo maintains her sophisticated look with an LBD.
This dress makes her look curvy, womanly and beautiful.

{image via peoplestylewatch.com}

Polka dots! RED polka dots.
They totally make this outfit.
Reese looks amazing in this polka dot sheath with stand out red Jimmy Choo's.
She looks pretty, professional and FUN.

12.17.2010

325: more fur FUN!

I cannot get over my fur obsession.
Real, fake, fluffy it doesn't matter.
I LOVE the look.
It makes me think of opulence and royalty.
All things every girl dreams of.
Purple IS my favorite color...
It makes a lot of sense now, doesn't it?
:)

{image via olsensanonymous.blogspot.com}

Ashley Olsen is wearing a vintage, swing coat.
It is real and looks amazing.
How hot are those boots?

{image via starstyleinc.com}

Ashley Tisdale looks awesome for a night out with her man.
The coat compliments her entire ensemble.
Love her ivory YSL Trib Too's

{image via gossipcenter.com}

Ashley apparently loves this trend as much as I do.
I love the way she wears this coat as an "everyday" look.

{image via hillsfreak.blogspot.com}

Miss Stephanie Pratt chose a contrasting color to her all black outfit.
The cropped coat looks great with the over the knee boots.
Great way to play with cuts and proportions.

324: Leather Skirt Lovin'

{image via hillsfreak.blogspot.com}

Is there really any better color than black?
Seriously. Nothing looks better on.

Olivia is starting to become a permanent fixture on Fashion Lane.
The girl kills it every. single. time.

This look is perfection.
The skirt length and fit is impeccable.
I love the sheer shirt, sexy without giving too much away.
The cardigan gives the look texture and the angular, pointed heels are amazing.

I want to copy this look.
B-A-D.

323: Winter Florals

{image via peoplestylewatch.com}

I love florals.
But not in the sissy, prissy way.
I love to pair them with lots of black, texture and chunky shoes, kind of like Miss Ashlee.

I think that Ash looks amazing.
There are many colors and textures that all look good together. Mixing menswear inspired oxford shoes with a feminine floral is the best combination.

I even kind of like her hair right here. Kind of!

322: CC Skye laser cut handbag

CC Sky "Rough Romance Frankie"

{image via nordstrom.com}

This handbag is one of my favorites right now!
I have this bag sitting on my Nordstrom wish list just begging to be bought.

It is the perfect size...not too big but not small at all.
The leather is so soft it feels like butter.
The laser cut leather is beautiful, intricate and different.
This bag looks so luxurious and has so many designer elements to it.
There are so many pockets and nooks and crannies.

It will look beautiful placed on the crook of your arm or carried by the hobo strap!

Romantic and feminine...this bag is perfection.

321: Pucci Prettiness

{images via peoplestylewatch.com}

Pucci has been HOT for the last year or so and it is easy to see why. The creations are SEXY.

Gwyneth Paltrow is wore a revealing white number to the "Country Strong" premiere. I think that she looks amazing. i love how the dress looks simple from the front but you are in for a surprise when she turns around. I love the lace up detail and that the skin that she is showing is different and keeps you guessing.

I think that metallics are an amazing choice for a dress.
Olivia Wilde looks amazing in this large keyhole neckline dress. The color looks incredible on her skin tone and she is showing cleavage but isn't over the top.

Both dresses are super different and super sexy!

320: Slouchy beanies

{image via usweekly.com}

{image via justjared.com}

{image via Nordstrom.com}

Nothing cures a bad hair day like a comfy, slouchy beanie.
BUT you don't have to be having a bad hair day to wear one.
These beanies add to an outfit and gives you a boho feel to what you have one.
You can wear your hair up, down, curly or straight and the hat looks good.

I love how Kourtney's hair looks polished but her hat completes the look. And Mason is the cutest! I love his animal hat.

You can get the look for $28.
Pick up the Tranish beanie here.

Tuesday Travel Style {10}

I don't know how it is possible to wear the most basic pieces and STILL look like a fashionista.
But Rachel does it!

{image via peoplestylewatch.com}

Fedora, basic tee, ripped jeans and ballet flats.
EVERY single one of us has these items in our closets.
I love that she has a Chanel handbag and is carrying a Dior garment bag.

She looks amazing. Amazingly simple.

12.09.2010

319: Mixing luxury designers

People mix highs and lows into their outfits daily. You may be wearing a t shirt from Target and Louboutin's while carrying an Alexander Wang handbag and lots of chunky necklaces from Forever 21. An amazing outfit where one piece cost you three bucks and another cost you $1200. Fashion is all about how YOU wear what you want while telling the rest of the world WHO you are through your clothing. Style is determined by you. You wear what you feel good in.

Many celebs dress high low and mix many luxury labels. Chanel tends to be the most luxurious and unattainable while Burberry is luxury for the masses. It isn't often that we see the two vendors combined. But Blake Lively, one of the hottest and best dressed celebs out there AND the new face of Chanel, has combined pieces from the two houses for a darling look.

{image via justjared.com}

Blake is wearing a Burberry metallic trench and plaid scarf with. Chanel handbag and Tweed booties. Her dress is by Isabel Marant. she has combined amazing pieces to create the "bombshell" girl next door look. She looks incredible. As always.

318: it's all ruffly

I tend to love really girly things. Ruffles, bows, sparkles and other feminine details ALWAYS catch my eye. I definitely wear these things but in a small way, like on a shoe or handbag. I cannot commit to wearing many of these details in my apparel choices.

{image via starstyleinc.com}

I saw this picture of Jennifer Lopez and I was very envious of her ruffled trench. The coat looks so sleek and girly. It doesn't matter what she has in underneath when she has on such a fabulous top coat.

Side nite: The YSL Trib Too pump seems to be the Hollywood fashionista's shoe du jour! I own it in two heel heights and I love them.

What I Wore: Day Off

I have one day off this week.
Working six day work weeks during the Holidays is awesome. {SARCASM, my friends}
And while all I wanted to do was lounge around in my sweats all day long I knew that getting dressed and seeing one of my BFF's was going to be way more productive.

For the record...I feel like this vest adds bulk to my middle area. I have yet to find a furry vest that minimizes. Eeek. :/
