What i Wore: Just a Pop!

It has been chilly in Ca and I FINALLY got to layer. When I say layer I mean a long sleeve shirt and jacket. Haha. I am kind of mad that I didn't add a scarf now that I am writing this. I actually do not layer often for two reasons...I am always hot (hot=sweaty) and I think it makes me look fat. Yup!

I thought of pairing my Hot Pink blazer with my chambray top when they were flung over the arm of the chair in my room. I thought my cognac boots would make a great neutral to compliment the brightness of the blazer. My navy jeans were the only logical pants to wear and I think the outfit turned out pretty well.

Now that I am working at a computer all day, I am trying to wear my glasses A LOT more. So they may make more appearances than usual :)

Review: Anjolee Hoop Earrings

You may or may not have noticed that I am not the type of blogger that has sponsors and that reviews a bunch of products sent to me. We all blog for different reasons, want to be noticed for different things and have different goals for "blogging". I am in the process of re-writing my 'About Me' page to reflect where I am at right now and why I blog. With that said I have been very picky in choosing who I want to work with. I started to get a lot of emails from potential partners last Summer and to this day I get sent proposals pretty frequently. I ONLY want to work with companies that truly represent me or intrigue me. I am excited to have TWO reviews to share this week and a pretty big event that I am attending tonight to talk about.

If there are two things you know about me (YES, I know you know a lot more than 2) it would be that I LOVE jewelry and that I am turning 30 in a few months. What you may not know is that even though I wear and collect jewelry like it is going out of style, I actually have very sensitive skin and cannot wear 95% of Fashion Jewelry (the stuff that is SUPER cute/trendy but isn't real). When Anjolee reached out to me about partnering with them I must say I was apprehensive for a slight moment. Then I snapped out of it and realized that I was going to get a NICE piece of jewelry that I got to customize and pick out myself. How could I pass that up? Annddddd I have that soft voice in the back of my constantly reminding me that I am turning 30 and that I need nicer pieces in my collection (as if I am going to become grown up overnight. Hehe).

I was asked to review a pair of their diamond hoop earrings. I was more than happy to pick out a pair of hoops because when it comes to earrings I fully believe the bigger, the better (and I have a few pair of studs already so it was nice to try something new). I choose the oval shaped gemstone diamond drop hoop earrings for three reasons. One, I got to incorporate my favorite color (purple) in with the diamonds for a little pop. Two, They look like the drop from the earlobe. Three, They are "different" from the basic diamond hoops you see. I am so happy with my choice. They are easily dressed up but can be worn with a more basic outfit as well. They are well made and stand out when your hair is pulled back. If you aren't a hoops fan they have so many other diamond earrings to choose from! The best part about Anjolee is that YOU get to pick the color, size, shape etc. They give you so many options to get EXACTLY what you need. I highly suggest you check them out.

The main reason that I chose to work with this company is because they offer quality pieces that the client gets to customize. I appreciate the finer things in life and I always like to have an option. Anjolee represents freedom in making the best choice for you!

What I Wore: 'Hattie' love

Ever since I received my Shoemint "Hattie's" it has been hard to not wear them on a daily basis. Besides being ridiculously cute, they are also super comfy. I know that I got mixed reviews when I asked you all which color combo to go with. But I had to have them. I shockingly do not have a cute black flat in my wardrobe so I pretty much knew I would get this combo. The neutral snake print really sealed the deal. And I may or may not have put myself on the waiting list for the color block pair too!

I had to run errands and then head out to dinner so I wanted an outfit that would transition well. I had not worn my white button up in awhile so I threw that on. It is quite large on me so I was constantly tucking ends in here and there. These jeans are my favorite right now, although it is because of the fit. I am not loving how they photograph as they look more washed than they do in real life. I pulled out my snake print skinny belt to compliment the shoes (like I did with this look) and I feel like it totally pulled it together. I also have to point out that I needed a slight edge to this pretty polished look and wore a hot pink bra so that it would show a little bit against the white.
Call me a rebel ;)

Sunday Share {13}

 I love Sunday's.
As I have gotten older it has pretty much become my favorite day of the week.
It is either my most productive day or my laziest day. Either way it always end up being pretty fab! I generally don't post on Sundays but I have had some things on my mind that I thought I would share.

So here goes...

 {my book. Signed and marked number 8/100. I feel so lucky}

  • I was the lucky winner of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's book, Influence, SIGNED by the twins on Wednesday after participating in a Twitter chat hosted by Stylemint. I wear my Stylemint tee's at least 3x a week. I cannot say enough about the Beachmint company. I urge you to sign up and fall in love. Right now I am trying to decide if I should buy the 'Harlem' in white (that sheer back panel is amazing) AND the 'Broadway' T dress in red (I want a stripe dress SO BAD but fear looking like I am 500 pounds). Has anyone bought either? DO you think I should get one or the other or both?
  • I am thinking of having a "Shoe Sale" on my blog. I have a couple of pairs of YSL's, a pair of Jimmy Choo's and a few other random pairs that I want to sell. I have sold on eBay in the past and I am not a fan. Is this something you all would be interested in???
  • I have a couple product reviews planned for the week. I have not done reviews before and I am nervous to share them. So stay tuned and be kind :)
  • I am frantically searching for a new iPhone case and I am being super picky. I would love any recs.... I am looking for a "soft case" that goes all the way around the front for maximum protection, a bigger space for the camera/flash that doesn't give the white glow when using the flash, I love leopard print, sparkles or a clear back and I don't want to spend more than thirty bucks. See??? I am super particular. Please help me!
  • If you cannot wait to read my Fashionista Fitness posts then follow my progress HERE on my personal blog.
  • Speaking of working out I am still in search of some dri-fit tanks that are loose and on the longer side. I tried the Lululemon version and it didn't fit well. Do you know of any??

I really appreciate your feedback and want to say "HI" to my new followers!
It still blows me away that so many of you are interested in me and my style.

I will be hitting the gym and watching the Oscar's on this fine day. We all know that the Oscar's are the Fashionista's Super Bowl. I cannot wait to see what everyone will be wearing.

Happy Sunday!!

What I Wore: THE pants

I did it. Once again...I am a total band-wagoner.
I bought the Target version of the Current/Elliott leopard pants.
That EVERYONE is blogging about and wearing.
But I HAD to. I just love leopard print waaayyyyy too much to pass.

I tried NOT to buy them. I really did. I tried them on FIVE, yes five, different times. At first I didn't care for the wash. The white wash is a little more defined than on the original pair and I thought it made my legs look huge. Each pair is a little different and I noticed that not all of them were so distinct. Then I was iffy about the sizing until I tried on ONE size smaller than I normally wear. And. They. FIT! WAHOO!!

In case you are curious about buying them...
- Check out each pair in your size range as they all are cut a little differently
- The jeans have a little stretch to them.
- The waist was pretty true to size while they legs are a little slimmer
- The pants are from the Juniors department and they are very low
- They are pretty long (I cuffed mine under to look cropped)

IF I only wear them a few times (which I know I will have them in heavy rotation) they are worth the twenty bucks. They also come in gray. I didn't buy them because I have a gray snake print pair that was super similar. The gray's wash is better than the tan. It isn't as noticeable and looks a little richer.

What I Wore: New Favorite Piece

In the Fashion Lane readers,
meet my new favorite piece...
Floral Bed Jacket.

I don't think I have loved a piece this much in awhile.
It is flowy, floral and pretty much goes with 90% of my closet.
Plus it is a piece that brings chicness to any outfit.
AND the best part...it is $25. El Cheapo!

This was my first "Spring" trend that I consciously tried to wear.
Floral's are everywhere and I wasn't sure that they were for me. I am not huge on real girly prints. I love how these flowers are kind of abstract and I am obsessed with the coral and yellow that the designers used. I was excited to bust out my neon yellow skinny belt to complement the colors and bring out the flowers. Neon and florals...I would say I am ready for Spring. I paired this look with my lighter jeans and all day long I felt like I should have done a darker denim. I also think that wearing the jacket open with dark denim flares will be fun too! I have so many outfits I want to try!! I knew I needed a neutral shoe. These taupe wedges were not an exact match to the gray but still went well.

New Favorite Piece

What I Wore:

Case of the Monday's

The blog title should really be called "Case of the Sunday's" since I write my posts in advance. As I sat down to write today's post I was feeling BLAH! I took two sets of outfit pics and HATED how I looked in both outfits when I sat down to edit the pics. I felt like I looked so fat in them then went on a downward spiral since I have been working out like a fiend AND eating 5 smalls a day. In fact, I just completed 7 weeks of 5x a week work outs. Which I am incredibly proud of yet forget when I look in the mirror. Ugh! I also have had an influx of friends announce engagements and pregnancies which never puts me in the right frame of mind. SO I am hoping that when I wake up that I am out of the funk and ready to take on the week!

Happy Monday, folks!

Here is a peak at my weekend through pictures...
I saved this pic after my cousin posted it on Facebook. It motivates me and will continue to motivate me. I love the honesty and the direction that Gwyneth gives.

I snapped this from the March issue of People Style watch. I HAD to find that floral jacket to add to my closet. I found it. And bought it. I am in LOVE with it.

A look at Friday's outfit. I HATED the way I looked in the front facing pics.
W.I.W: Old Navy cardi and jeans, F21 black tee and Vince Camuto booties

Friday Nights work out attire. LOTS of colors.

Saturday's work out look. Pops of neon!

This is what happens when I have a lot of time on my hands. I take pics of myself making fishy faces. Normal, right? I would like to point out my good hair day ;)

My weekend consisted of working out, two Target runs and catching up on TV. Such a glamorous life I lead! Hope you all had a great weekend!

What I Wore: Ladylike. Kind of.

It has been 8 months since I have had to "dress up" for work. For 8 long years my closet consisted of slacks, pencil skirts, blazers and cardigans. I tried to find ways to "sass" up my work look. Most of those ways included accessories and shoes. Not working in a corporate setting anymore has left me longing for some of my old clothes. So I decided to dress up. Kind of.

These black pants have been the best pair of pants I have ever bought. I own them in this ankle length and also own them in long so I have two different looks AND can wear flats or heels. I tend to do this with a lot of my pants since I like my pants to graze the floor when wearing heels. Speaking of heels...my dear blogging buddy, Megan of The Frugalista Diaries, was so kind to get me these AMAZING metallic and snake print platform pumps from her Target in Florida. I have not seen them in CA and I pretty much died when I saw them on her post. I have a feeling these babies will get a lot of wear. I pulled out my snake print skinny belt to compliment the snakeskin in the shoes (and to hold up my pants). The last thing I picked was my blouse. I was going to wear one of my printed cardi's but then saw this top and decided to keep the outfit neutral. It is an eggshell color with pleats and a bow (I am not super girly and like it untied). I tucked in the front half to show off the belt, added a statement necklace and called it a look!

Ladylike. Kind of.

 What I Wore:

Blouse: Gap (Spring 2011)
Pants: Banana Republic (OLD...2009)
Belt: Michael Kors
Shoes: Xhilaration (Target)
