If there is one thing I have learned about Style Blogging, it is how to make the basics work for you. Obviously they are called basics for a reason BUT I always try to find something a little different to make the look a little more "me". Right now I am loving distressed/destroyed/shredded cut offs. I think they funk up the outfit. I like wearing a more girly top in a pretty color or fun fabrication to offset the grungier look of the shorts. This lavender blouse is a perfect example of that. Since both pieces were pretty simple I thought that the leopard sandals were the perfect complement to the outfit. They stand out with out being over the top.
I also want to point out that having an 'Apple Shape' is hard to dress sometimes. In blousier pieces I tend to look heavier. You can see a huge difference when I put my hands on my hips, defining my waist. Since I have a larger bust and broad ribcage I have to buy tops in a larger size creating excess in the body of the garment. SO annoying. I need to find an amazing tailor! The power of alterations is HUGE!
Looking somewhat lean...
Definitely look heavier in my mid section...
Oh HEY... I have a waist! And it looks kind of small.
Waist? What Waist?
