What I Wore: Punk Rock

Hey friends!
It has been a few days. I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine was pretty darn good! I went to the Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney concert with four of my girlfriends that I have been friends with since {before} Middle School. We had the most incredible time. I honestly have not had that much fun in a long time. I danced and sang my heart out. Plus I felt blessed to be out with people that have known me, loved me and supported me for more than half my life. Sunday was spent recuperating and having dinner with a good friend. I truly believe that ending the weekend with a couple beers and Mexican food is pretty much perfection. If you follow me on Instagram (My name is @FashionistaMMC) you got bits and pieces of my weekend.

I call this outfit 'punk rock' because anytime I wear skulls I feel like a bad ass. It reminds me of my punk rock days in high school when we would blast Pennywise, Social D and Blink 182 in my convertible while driving to the beach. I liked that the top is a little classier because it is a button up, collared shirt. Pairing it with red shorts (which are obviously a little big now) and my favorite flats made the blouse work appropriate. My coworker called me the Nightmare Before Christmas AND Nightmare on Elm Street so I am going to throw out there that I may have been Man Repelling a bit! Haha.

  2. TIme McGraw & Kenny Chesney?? I'm not a big country fan, but those 2 guys are definitely my favorite. I love some old school Kenny Chesney! This blouse is great, I really like that it's got sleeves too. Perfect paired with the red shorts!

  4. I am super jealous of your tan! Lately I've been feeling about as pale as Casper the Friendly Ghost. I really like the contrast of the skulls with the pink! I'm your newest follower, by the way. Happy Wednesday! :)

  11. I say the punk rock look looks goooood on you! I love that you chose a bold color to go alongside it. I remember in 2005 when skulls became really popular I bought everything I could find! Now it's harder to do so but I still love them! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled.

I ordered one from Tobi, way to small, super sad about that. You look great, black & pink are my favorite colors, so this is just perfect.
