Trashy TV, Work Outs and Target

I am not sure how many of you know that I am a complete night owl and that I tend to write my blog posts right before bed. So this post is being written after watching The Bachelor and The Biggest Loser. I also DVR The Following (AMAZE-BALLS new show with Kevin Bacon) AND Dallas. Too much good television on Monday nights. Eeek! So I feel like I have to tell you that watching both of these shows really puts perspective in my life. I know that may sound ridiculous BUT being "single" and searching for love along with continuing on my Fitness Journey pretty much ensures that watching Reality TV is a must. As for the perspective, I know that as much as I think that I am "crazy" and possibly hard to date I know that I am nowhere close to the craziness that a few of the girls on The Bachelor (Tierra is on her on level of cray cray. Her and her eyebrow) are. I was sad to see Lesley go. She was my favorite from the beginning. But watching Sean dismiss Tierra early was just fantastic. PLUS seeing Sean's sister reenforces that Sean is really not a douchebag. I still really like him and his genuineness. As for The Biggest Loser... I am not really attached to any of the contestants, maybe Danni, but overall it is a kind of boring season. I just watch to see Bob, Dolvett and Jillian in action. Their work outs inspire me!

This is always a good reminder when it comes to matters of the heart!

Since I just babbled about television I have to share that I actually didn't get dressed in anything besides work out clothes yesterday. I started running again since I signed up for a 5K on March 30th. I also went on a 4 mile walk with a friend. So I got in double work outs. I am doing what I can to stay motivated to lose 20 pounds and setting milestones is important. So no outfit post today! Sorry, Friends! Tomorrow. Promise!

I LOVE this. You cannot just think it, you must do it. Actions speak louder than words in all aspects of life!

I did run into Target yesterday to pick up a few things and to check out the Prabal Gurung for Target line. My store still had so many of the clothing options but the ever popular sweatshirt was long gone (not that I would have bought it because I know 6 people that did plus the blogging world. Haha). I think that it was a gorgeous collection. I wasn't a huge fan of the fabrication used but that's to be expected. The shoes were picked over but the neon strappy heels were there. Two pairs left and one happened to be my size. I LOVE them. But I still left home without buying them. I may hate myself later. Or try and buy them. Let me know if you think I should!!

I did happen to fall in love with the 'Ona' flat in cognac. I am going to have to carry my love for cognac into spring and summer when I won't be able to wear my beloved boots anymore and I think that these are perfect. I have been a fan of this flat since they introduced this style. For fifteen bucks they are kind of a no brainer. I am also enamored with these wedges. I love the shades of blue and teal mixed with the natural of the cork. These pretties will probably be making their way into my closet at some point. If you fall in love you may want to size down, they run a bit big. I also think these are rad. Edgy, HIGH wedge and neutral. Pretty perfect characteristics if you ask me.

That is a quick wrap up of my Monday. Shop, Work Out, a little girl time and lots of trashy TV. I cannot complain!

  1. your reality tv content/life metaphor is spot on I think. well, at least I can see the correlation!
I feel like all the orange county Targets got all the good stuff! Totes agree about the floral sweatshirt though. cute, but a bit overdone.
sounds like you had a lovely day!

  4. Reality TV even when you aren't single is a must. I need to be reminded that Richard is lucky that I am NOT as crazy as some of these other broads. Ps- Go get the damn shoes girl!

    1. HAHAHAHAHA... Good point! I think it is entertaining regardless of status. Those girls...they should be ashamed. My parents would KILL me if I acted a fool!

  5. haha, bad tvvvv- yessss. I haven't watched the Bachelor this season but I have been into the Biggest Loser. It certainly hasn't been the most exciting but the premise of the show itself always keeps me interested. i love Danni. And I was SO, SO sad about Mike being outed! He was such a sweetheart with the kindest disposition, so I was sad for him. But his follow-up seemed very positive so yay for that!

Love all of your gym stories and working out- great for you for signing up for the 5K, I love that! I'm doing one of those mud racer ones in June that I'm looking forward to.

I haven't seen the Target collection but I want to! I haven't even seen that sweatshirt yet... but I do like it! haha. that does look like something that bloggers would fawn over (in a good way).

    1. Oh Caitlin... I didn't watch the Bachelor franchise for a good 3-4 years but ended up sucked in again. I really like Sean, NOT a douchbag. it is refreshing. I was sad about Mike too. I hate when the nice ones go.

I am glad I am motivating you. I think I write the stories to motivate myself. I TOTALLY want to do a Mud Run. Maybe in the Summer. I have to find some friends to participate as well.

don't you love when you can spot the "blogger" piece? I always try to stay away from them even though they are cute. Less competition. Haha

    1. Isn't it INCREDIBLE? A guy I went on a date with told me about it. Even though he wasn't one to keep around I am glad I got to find out about the show. HAHAHA. That made the date worth it. ;)
