Sunday Share {14}

Happy Weekend Friends!
I hope it has been a good one. Mine has been quite busy and I LOVE it. Yesterday I had a shopping date with my blogger bud, Kristen of Love, Lipstick and Pearls. We spent a good four hours shopping, lunching and chatting. I am so grateful to have this platform that has brought some incredible people into my life. After that I picked up dinner and spent time with my sister and nephew. My sis came down for a couple hours before heading across the country for a week. I got in work outs on both Friday and Saturday evenings, which felt good. This morning I am meeting another friend to see The Hunger Games and have lunch. I plan on relaxing (and maybe cleaning??) all afternoon. I love having plans and enjoying my time. I am a happy girl.

The past few weeks I have really been thinking, plotting and planning about my blog. I have a bazillion things running through my head and I want to start getting some things into action. So I have a few thoughts to share and some questions for you all...

1. I think that Pinterest is an incredible tool for Bloggers. I enjoy spending time pinning and finding inspiration. I love that I have one place to keep it all together. I am even more excited about the new terms and how that can affect how and why I do things. I know that some bloggers pin their own looks and that many bloggers are pinned by their peers/readers.
Question: Should I pin my own looks or let others do it for me?

2. Facebook. Oh Facebook. I really do love having a page. I have been pretty active on my personal page and love the interactions I have. I know many of you have a Facebook page, Twitter, Pinterest and so many other sites. I prefer following via Twitter and HATE when I see the same things on Facebook, Twitter AND the Blog. I personally feel like I cannot keep up with all three social media outlets and keep them fresh and different. BUT I know that I am missing potential readers by not having a Blog Page.
Question: How important is it for a Blogger to have a Facebook Page? Why or Why not should I create one?

3. Facebook Part 2. While I am active on my personal page I do not share anything about my blog. I have the link on my info page but I don't think people really look at it. I am not shy and don't care if people I know read my blog but I don't like making it a big deal. Am I the only one who is weird about this?
Question: Should I be promoting the blog on my Personal Page or keep quiet like I have been?

4. If you follow me on Twitter you may or may not have seen some of my tweets about my feelings on blogging lately. A couple tweets definitely created some conversations and discussions that brought up a lot of great questions/concerns. I feel strongly about a few things including Posing in Outfit posts, What REALLY makes a "budget" blog considered "budget" and Personal Style. Most of those feelings are not the best. I have been incredibly annoyed and bothered by the blog-o-sphere lately. :/
Question: Do you have any pet peeves or feelings about Blogging/Bloggers that really gets you thinking? How do you handle it?

See...my mind is buzzing.
These questions barely scratch the surface. I really hope that you all will chime in and share your thoughts and feelings. I really value the opinions of my readers and learn a lot from them!

And if you feel like reading even MORE about where my brain is at, head on over to my Personal Blog to read about my Fitness Struggle this past week.

Happy Sunday!

 I love Sunday's.
As I have gotten older it has pretty much become my favorite day of the week.
It is either my most productive day or my laziest day. Either way it always end up being pretty fab! I generally don't post on Sundays but I have had some things on my mind that I thought I would share.

So here goes...

 {my book. Signed and marked number 8/100. I feel so lucky}

  • I was the lucky winner of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's book, Influence, SIGNED by the twins on Wednesday after participating in a Twitter chat hosted by Stylemint. I wear my Stylemint tee's at least 3x a week. I cannot say enough about the Beachmint company. I urge you to sign up and fall in love. Right now I am trying to decide if I should buy the 'Harlem' in white (that sheer back panel is amazing) AND the 'Broadway' T dress in red (I want a stripe dress SO BAD but fear looking like I am 500 pounds). Has anyone bought either? DO you think I should get one or the other or both?
  • I am thinking of having a "Shoe Sale" on my blog. I have a couple of pairs of YSL's, a pair of Jimmy Choo's and a few other random pairs that I want to sell. I have sold on eBay in the past and I am not a fan. Is this something you all would be interested in???
  • I have a couple product reviews planned for the week. I have not done reviews before and I am nervous to share them. So stay tuned and be kind :)
  • I am frantically searching for a new iPhone case and I am being super picky. I would love any recs.... I am looking for a "soft case" that goes all the way around the front for maximum protection, a bigger space for the camera/flash that doesn't give the white glow when using the flash, I love leopard print, sparkles or a clear back and I don't want to spend more than thirty bucks. See??? I am super particular. Please help me!
  • If you cannot wait to read my Fashionista Fitness posts then follow my progress HERE on my personal blog.
  • Speaking of working out I am still in search of some dri-fit tanks that are loose and on the longer side. I tried the Lululemon version and it didn't fit well. Do you know of any??

I really appreciate your feedback and want to say "HI" to my new followers!
It still blows me away that so many of you are interested in me and my style.

I will be hitting the gym and watching the Oscar's on this fine day. We all know that the Oscar's are the Fashionista's Super Bowl. I cannot wait to see what everyone will be wearing.

Happy Sunday!!

Happy Sunday Friends!
I am so excited that I don't have to work tomorrow AND that I may get to meet a bloggy friend! Eeeek! SO excited.

I have a new blog to introduce to you.
My dear friend Jessica has started a blog and she is sharing some AWESOME things. Jess is DROP DEAD gorgeous (seriously, model material) with a heart of gold, has adorable twin boys and a baby girl that already has her mom's fashionista genes. I DIE over Jess's fur collection and she finds the best deals on everything! Make sure to stop on over and say Hi to her at Balanced Libra

Speaking of fellow bloggers...
Did you all check out the feature on Blair of Atlantic-Pacific on Who What Wear??? I about fell over when I read the piece. You all know I LOVE her and am completely inspired by her. She is officially *Big Time* now!

I am still "moving in" to my condo and it is quite the feat!
I cleared out my storage and have been going through boxes that have been packed up for the last three years. It is like Christmas in June. I am happy to report that I still LOVE my kitchen stoneware and my living room decor. My mom, her best friend and I are slowly getting my Gram's stuff cleared out and making the condo feel like mine. We still have so much more to do but I am loving the subtle changes already. I have been taking pics along the way so that I can show you my interior decorating skills in the near future!

I finally bought my first Wildfox Couture tops. I am in love.
They are comfy, have cute sayings/pictures and are perfect summer. They are definitely California casual. I especially love the Baggy Beach Jumpers. They are slightly sheer and perfect for the "cool" nights here by the beach. I am sure they will make it into a What I Wore post soon!
Check the styles out here.
I especially like the Love Potion #9 top!

While I was in Scottsdale last week I went to the cutest boutique called Lindsay Lou. It was fabulous and carried all of the hottest lines and up an coming designers, as well. I was super excited to hear that they sell everything on line!
You have to check it!
www.LindsayLou.com

My sister introduced me to the C9 by Champion seamless sports bra. I have never worn a more comfortable bra in my life. AND it supports me while I work out. It comes in fun colors and prints. I am dying to get my hands on the tye dye prints.

Well...that is all I've got for you!
Hope you all enjoy the day.

XOXO

Oh goodness...
I have something BIG to share with y'all!

Tomorrow is the first of my last five days at my job!
I QUIT.

I know, I know.
Craziness. Who quits a job with a great company in this economy? And NO I do not have another job lined up. Yet.

I have not been happy for almost a year. It has taken me nine months to bite the bullet. Back in January I stepped down from my Regional position. Between the travel, my health and the direction the position was going it was decided that it wasn't the best position for me anymore. And I was happy (er). But I knew that I needed to move on and that scared me. I have ALWAYS been the girl with the plan.

I cannot answer many questions.
I am putting my 100% trust in the Lord that he will guide my way. I live by Jeremiah 29:11 and I know that he has a plan and a purpose for my life. I am trusting his plan (instead of my own) and guess what?!?!

I am SO HAPPY!

So send any job suggestions my way.
I am looking for my PASSION again!

HAPPY, HAPPY SUNDAY!

Sunday Share {10} ...on Monday

Well folks, after a month off, I am back at work today. Bittersweet. I have to work. Plain and simple. I'm not married, I'm educated and I like to live a certain lifestyle. I used to live to work. It was my life. It consumed me. And for many years, I LOVED it. I wish I could say that I still had that fire. The passion. But I made a big work change in January and I have honestly felt a little lost since. I'm trying to figure out what I should do and what I am passionate about. It's taking a little longer than I had hoped but I think I am on my way. So today I am working a job (no longer a job that is my career) until I find something that means I get to "work to live".

Ok that was heavy for a Monday...but I have one more heavy thing that has to be documented.

Osama Bin Ladin. Is dead. While I feel relieved and that many families now have justice it is hard to rejoice in someone's death. It feels wrong. I know he did the most horrendous thing possible, that he continued to plot and plan to destroy Americans and our safety, that he has trained many people to continue his plan and that he is pure evil. He got what he deserved. But we are not out of the woods. We still aren't "safe". I want to THANK the men and women who have served and who continue to serve. This is YOUR moment. And I am forever grateful. I will continue to PRAY for the lord still has his hand on our Country.

This is a fashion blog, I will get back to the "fun" stuff now. Thank you for hearing me out. This series is about sharing my thoughts, feelings and findings. So I feel I'm within my right ;)

So...who checked out the Calypso St. Barths for Target? I did. And there was some cute things. I wasn't super impressed with the clothes, I did pick up the crocheted, tye dye tunic. The lingerie was darling and I bought a cute lime green set. And I LOVED the kitchen ware. I bought some plates, bowls, tumblers and the darling elephant tea pot. I love how the line had something in every area. I really wanted to buy the pouf but I don't have any idea where I would use it. So I passed. And I will probably be upset with myself later. What did you get??

I am pretty much obsessed with all things royal. And like 2 billion other people I stayed up all night to watch the Royal Wedding (I have a separate post for later this week. I'm excited). First let me say that I about DIED when I saw Kate's dress. Amazing. And the fact that it was designed by Sarah Burton for McQueen means so much. I am the biggest dork and went out to buy the Essie nail polish that Kate wore on her big day. Yes, yes I did. It is called "Allure" if anyone wants to go buy it too! I know I'm not the only one...

I haven't shopped much. Hard to believe, I know. But between the surgery, Cabo and recovering I haven't been out much. And being on disability does not help with the cash flow. But I found to new hair products that I have to tell you all about. They are at your local drugstore and cheap. Both under five bucks.
- Garnier Fructis nutrient spray. It nourishes and shines. I use it with the Garnier leave in conditioner (I mentioned it in my beachy waves post) and my hair has NEVER been softer.
- Aussie 3 minute miracle. This is a conditioner that I use once or twice a week. It smells like vacation in a bottle and I swear I saw a difference after one use.

Well that about sums up my week. Happy Monday!

Sunday Share {9}

It has been awhile since I have spilled what is on my mind.
I have had every intention of writing this piece every week, but then never got it together enough to schedule it out. I hardly touch my computer Friday through Sunday since I am catching up on real life. Now that I am on a leave I have more time. And my blog sure has gotten a lot of love.

I have had SO much time to peruse blogs and every day I fall in love with some one else. This weeks favorites include...
- Taylor of Sterling Style

I joined pinterest and I am having a BLAST pinning my inspiration pics. Especially ideas for my Condo Renovation.

I have a weird obsession with weddings. I am kind of in love with Tori Spelling. So you can only imagine how excited I am for her New show about planning weddings, SToribook Weddings. Seriously??? Television Perfection.

After a long winter, and the time where I wear way too much dark polish, I have been obsessing over light and neutral colors. I haven't quite jumped into the bright, fun colors yet. My new must have colors are Sally Hansen's 'Cafe Au Lait" after seeing it on a post of Maegan's in January. I think that the Essie color, that I cannot get enough of, has been around for awhile. But I just found it. It is called 'Jazz' and I have had it on my toes for over a month. GORG!

I know I only had three things on my Spring Shopping List. I am really sticking to it. But I am really starting to adore the Honeysuckle color that is so big for Spring. I don't know why it has taken so long but after seeing these two blouses I am hooked.
{Kourtney via gossipcenter.com and Lauren via starstyleinc.com}

I have been in L-U-S-T with Lauren's shoes since I saw this pic of her filming for her show, that was not picked up. Boo!
{image via hillsfreak.blogspot.com}

I went back and forth, back and forth about a million times.
Then I saw them on Katie and I had to have them.
So I bought them a few days ago and I am so glad I did. They were on sale and I had a gift card. I bought them for ten bucks of my own money. SCORE!

Last, but certainly not least, I DVR'd the mini series, The Kennedy's. I LOVE it. I am actually a huge American History buff and was so excited to see how the American 'Royal' family was presented. Especially after all the drama of getting the series played on TV. The costumes are amazing and I have fallen in love with the Sixties. It is hard not to have a total style/girl crush on Jackie O. She is style perfection. IF you didn't get a chance to see it I would check to see when they are replaying it OR you can buy the DVD set for $29.99. It is worth it!

What did you do this weekend?
I enjoyed time with my sis, bro in law, NEPHEW and old friends.

Happy SUNDAY!

What a week...of relaxation! I have been on hiatus from my job (starting a new venture tomorrow that I will discuss in more detail later in the week) and I have enjoyed the AMAZING weather that we have been having...definitely NOT trying to rub it in. BUT I was usually indoors until the moon was out and never would have enjoyed it anyways. I also got to spend some incredible time with my mom and some life long friends. It has been awesome. And eye opening.

Onto my sharing...

* I decided to participate in Kendi Everyday's 30 for 30 remix. AAAGHHH! I am freaking out but decided that this was the PERFECT time to play! Read up about it HERE.

* I always get excited when I find other websites or blogs that are talking about the same things that I am.
    - This week WHOWHATWEAR wrote this post on Airport Style, What They Wear:Airports, and it had a couple pictures that I have used for Tuesday Travel Style and had a couple that I have been saving for future posts.
    - I don't know how many of you read Sea of Shoes, but Jane is one of the most beautiful and stylish 17 year old I have ever encountered. Her red hair makes me green with envy. Her mom has passed down the style gene. Jane's shoe collection is too die for. When I saw these posts about her YSL platforms I was so happy. She touched on the seventies trend that I talked about in my post about Spring Shoe Picks. She documented her YSL's more than once. Read about them here---> one and two

Sneak Peek of Jane...GORG!
{image via seaofshoes.com}

* I am OBSESSED with both of the Country Strong soundtracks. Being a country girl I cannot get enough of the music. the movie was FANTASTIC and would encourage you all to go see it. Immediately. Gwyneth, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester all sing on the soundtracks and I love each one of their voices. And Garret is my new Hollywood crush. His voice puts me in a trance (I have a huge thing about deep voices. Manly voices.) and he is so damn H-O-T!

* Being home has given me a LOT of time to read blogs. I keep finding more and more. The last two nights I have stayed up til 2am reading blogs. It is becoming a sickness I swear. I like all of them but none of them that I am DYING over at this moment. But since I like to give some blogger love I think you would enjoy checking out The Look 4 Less and Nicole's Guide to Style. they are completely different from each other! Happy Reading!

* I booked 5 days in CABO! I will spend Easter with my Family, including my new Nephew, in April. I cannot wait.
And that is my weekly trip down Fashion Lane. Have a phenomenal week Fashionista's!

It has been awhile since I shared some of my favorites.
I hope you enjoy my latest loves...

Loving this song...AND love the controversy behind the video.
Julianne is H-O-T

I cannot stop reading ...Love Maegan. I spent two hours last night and another half hour today catching up on the archives and I only made it to September 2010. She is beautiful, witty and has an incredible wardrobe. I want to be her in my next life :)

My House of Harlow 1969 obsession is becoming out of control. I am dying to own these Veronika wedges. And if you follow me on Twitter you will know that I was sad that I passed up the Tribal multi color stackable bangles when I was in Park City. And now I am obsessed with them. And the rings. Eeek!

The first few weeks of 2011 have definitely NOT gone as I planned and have had some huge changes happen. I look forward to sharing them with you all soon! DUE to the changes I have not shopped...upholding my goal of shopping smarter and saving money. Woohoo!
But I sure have an itch to...

Have a great week Fashionista's!

What a CRAZY week. Working Retail during Holiday Season is exhausting. And it JUST started. EEEK!

Black Friday Madness...had everyone out and shopping! The stores were busy. I checked my Facebook on the way to work and saw that 10+ friends had been out since 3am hitting the stores. I had two other friends Twitter WHY they wouldn't be out on Black Friday...they worked retail for many years and KNOW that the fun is gone. If I don't have to work a Black Friday in the future you can bet that I will be in bed. NOT out with the crazies. :) NO offense to those that do!

I have made a life change when it came to my eating habits and it has been exciting watching my weight drop. I have lost 23 pounds since August 15. Woohoo!! I am just trying to maintain my current weight for the month of December as I work INSANE hours and don't have time to prepare my meals every day. Wish me luck!

As you know I have been  trying to accomplish 365 posts, one a day (on average) for 2010. I took a break in May and don't really post on the weekends. I have scheduled out posts until the 1st. On Wednesday I will have 62 posts left. If I post TWO posts a day, EVERY day I will have accomplished my goal! Is it possible with my work schedule??? I sure as hell hope so :)

Have any of you started your Christmas shopping? I will get most of mine done by the end of the week. PLUS side to working in a retail environment. I am asking for everyone to contribute to buy me an iPad! I am so excited. I buy everything that I want. I am a nightmare to try and get a Christmas List out of!

Apparently this while post revolved around the Holidays! Get SHOPPING! Let me know if you need help, suggestions etc.

Thanksgiving is on Thursday and the CA weather is actually cooperating this year. It has been rainy and cold. Which I enjoy during the holidays (just not before). I have spent my weekend bundled up in cozy sweaters, scarves and beanies. And sleeping! Lots of sleeping! Hope you had an enjoyable weekend!

Holy bananas! Look at Kelly Osbourne on the cover of Shape magazine. She looks incredible! She has lost 50 pounds and has motivated me to keep working on my fitness {and eating habits :/}

Yesterday the Gap store was 40% off. Of Everything. I bought 6 things for $120 bucks. STEAL of a deal friends! Steal!

Lanvin for H&M came out in stores yesterday. I didn't wake up in time to get down there before EVERYTHING was sold out. I heard it was a frenzy! I wish I could have gotten a piece of the collection. Did any of you???

Have you seen the Jessica Simpson Collection dresses? They are darling. And I want like FIVE dresses from the website. Check them out HERE.

If you create a "wish list" at Nordstrom.com you can win $2,000. You should definitely check it out.

AND if you have had your eye on a Designer Handbag, many of them will be going on SALE, 40% OFF, on FRIDAY 11/26. Get in and check them out!

Sunday Sharing {4}

This week I am all over the board on my thoughts. I love sharing Sunday's because I think you get a better glimpse of me and who I am.

I am obsessed with the song by Jaron and the Long Road to Love, "That's Beautiful to Me". I can listen to it over and over. Kristin Cavallari is in the music video.

I cannot wait to see, "Blue Valentine", with Ryan Gosling and Michelle WIlliams. It was recently given a NC-17 rating due to the dramatic elements AROUND sex, not gratuitous sex itself. Kind of crazy. It won't keep me away. The plot is supposed to be dark, riveting and real. PLUS Ryan and Michelle's acting is supposed to be 'Oscar' worthy.

It has been confirmed that Jessica Simpson is engaged.
Um, CRAZY! The timing makes everyone question the validity. I love her but she really makes bad decisions.

I have put myself on a three week shopping freeze.
With the execption of buying gifts (my Dad's bday is this week, Thanksgiving is next week etc) for other people I am not buying anything for myself. Wish me luck!

I am still L-O-V-I-N-G Sydney at The Daybook.
Her Bun Tutorial is awesome!
Check her out!

Hope you all have an awesome week!
I have a crazy week ahead!

Sunday Sharing {3}

Happy Halloween. (for those that celebrate since I do NOT)
Although I did go to a family Halloween party. Hypocrite? Maybe. I don't know.

Welcome to the late night addition to my Sunday sharing.

I cannot stop reading these two blogs:
and
The Daybook

I love My Fash Diary because she has INSANE style (and clearly a huge wallet as she has the most amazing shoes, bags, apparel at such a young age) and blogs about her growing Fashion career. I try not to be but I get insanely jealous of the things that she has gotten to do in her early life.

And Sidney of The Daybook is the cutest thing I have seen for awhile and her love for her, just as adorable hubby, is precious. She makes the preppiest articles of clothing look INCREDIBLE. And the girl can pose!

I am also loving OPI's Burlesque collection.
I picked up and amazing sparkly fuchsia polish called, The Show must go on.

{images via google.com}

The color is really rich and the sparkle is subtle. The red was gorgeous too, perfect for the Holiday's.

I bought the CUTEST metallic oxfords at F21.
I have really been into their shoes lately. Cheap and Chic.
i love that I can get the trendiest pieces without blowing my budget. Makes me happy.

{image via forever21.com}

I plan on wearing them with my black skirt that I got from Old Navy for 6 bucks, opaque black tights, Black blazer and a skinny gold belt. i cannot wait :)

Cheers to a new week!

Sharing Sunday {2}

This week I bargain shopped.

While this might not seem significant to you...this is definitely out of the ordinary for me. You see, I have always found shopping to be challenging (when you have dealt with weight issues your whole life you tend to buy what fits regardless of the price because you are so happy you found SOMETHING) and bargain stores OVERWHELM me. I seriously get hot and itchy, short of breath and have to walk out. Sad, I know.

So to buy SIX things and spend 100 bucks, I was OVERJOYED!!

I hit up Old Navy in Utah and managed to go on an EXTRA 40% off day. I bought a pair of shorts for 2.57 and a skirt for 5.97. I also picked up the J Brand 'Houlihan' knock offs for $22 (it was their deal of the week and now are back to $34.50). These skinny cargo's are to die for.  And to be 100% honest...I liked them better than the REAL pair. Crazy I know!

And guess what store just happened to be next door to the Old Navy...YUP, Forever 21. Have you seen their shoes lately??? They are amazing. If you follow me on Twitter you will know that I left with a pair. They are cut out heels/booties in Taupe and were 26 bucks. A Steal. I wore them yesterday and did not take them off! Check them out here.

My sister was in town this weekend and she is a total bargain shopper, as is my mom. They LOVE the search. TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshall's the ladies can spend hours in them. Me not so much. Hives, remember? Anyways, I took one for the team and went to TJ Maxx with Mom and Sis. And I found something. I had been wanting a pair of metallic sandals by Steve Madden but I never picked them up. Well I found them. The ONLY pair of shoes in this style and in my size. And they were 20 dollars. TWENTY. Woohoo! So I left with those bad boys!

And last but not least I found a BLACK [faux] leather jacket that fits the look I want and my body. It hits at just the right spot and has a drapey collar. In fact it is very similar to the black leather jacket I posted about earlier last week on Blake Lively. This gem is by Mossimo and was $39.99. I already have like five outfits picked out to wear it with.

I have planned some WIW posts around these items so I am sure you will see them all at some point. But I just had to share all of the great deals that I found! It makes it a lot easier to share "the look for less" for all of those readers asking for that ;)

Sharing Sunday {1}

It was a pretty good week, even spending four days of it in Denver (not my favorite place ever!). As I am constantly thinking of ways to grow my readership and change up the blog I have decided to post on Sunday's. The post will be a quick list of my favorite things from the week that might not get it's own post under 365. They will be things that I feel I have to share with you all! Let me know what you think!

I saw "The Town" and it was absolutely amazing. I think that I was speechless for about 15 minutes after. Go see it! If only to see Ben looking like this in his directorial debut. (This movie reaffirmed my long lasting love for Ben. I have been obsessed since Good Will Hunting. Literally 13 years.)

{image via google image search}

I found Kendi. My friend Andrea tweeted about her blog and I spent all of Saturday afternoon reading it. You need to check this blog out!

I am obsessed with the F21 Cupcakes and Cashmere set up. They merchandised their stores around five bloggers style. The product looks incredible. After reading about Emily and sharing her blog with you all a couple of weeks ago, I about died when I saw the store.

My toenail polish makes me happy every time I look at my feet. I became obsessed with finding the perfect gold glitter for my toes. I bought the OPI Swiss Collection's Glitzerland and layered it with Nubar's Gold/Brown glitter. The effect is STUNNING! Nubar's glitter polishes actually look like the whats in the bottle.

{image via bynubar.com}

{Image via OPI.com}

I fell in love with these jeans! I was really scared to try them on due to the reviews BUT I found them to fit fantastically, I love the thinness of the fabric and the length was perfect to wear with all of my heels. I am buying them in two other colors. Obsessed much? Sure am :)

And that my blog friends is the end of my sharing Sunday. Hope you enjoy!
